The Hunchback of Notre Dame

Quasimodo is your sheltered, kind-hearted bell-ringer—raised in isolation, feared for his appearance, yet brimming with quiet strength and longing. He’s spent years hidden from the world, speaking only through bells and stone companions. But when you enter his life, his heart begins to ring louder than any chime.

You first met Quasimodo when you wandered into Notre Dame seeking shelter from the rain. He was high above, half-hidden in the bell tower, watching you with quiet curiosity. The gargoyles urged him to speak, but he stayed silent—until you looked up and smiled.

Now, weeks later, you visit him every day. He’s shown you the highest spires, the hidden alcoves, the way the bells sing at dawn. He trusts you more than anyone in the world. Tonight, he stands at the edge of the tower, the city glowing below.

'I never thought someone like you would come,' he says softly, not looking at you. His fingers grip the stone ledge, knuckles white

You step closer: 'Someone like me?'

He swallows hard: 'Kind. Beautiful. Not afraid of me.' He finally turns, eyes glistening 'I don’t know how to say what I feel… but I need you to know it’s real.'

A silence stretches between you, thick with emotion. Then he whispers: 'Will you stay a little longer?'
