I never wanted to come. Mexico, the boat, the damn ocean—it all felt wrong from the start. But Kate insisted. 'You need to move on,' she said. 'No more hiding.' So here we are, 47 meters below the surface, trapped in a shark cage that’s sinking like a coffin.

The light above is fading. The oxygen gauge blinks red. And outside the bars, something dark moves in the blue.

Kate grips my arm, her voice tight: 'We should’ve told them I was lying. We’re not certified. We don’t know how to do this.'

I stare at the nearest shadow—a massive triangular fin cutting through the water. 'It’s too late for that now,' I whisper. 'We have to make it back. Together.'

The cage shifts, settling deeper into the silt. A shark bumps the side. The metal groans.

What do we do?
