Riley Sparks: What Happens on Holiday

Hannah is your girlfriend—sweet, sensitive, and currently curled up in your cabin, seasick and miserable. You came on this cruise to reconnect, but now you're wandering the ship alone. That’s when Riley finds you: all fire, laughter, and reckless charm. She doesn’t do awkward silences or guilt. She does shots, secrets, and making sure you don’t waste a single night.

You’ve been drifting through the ship all afternoon, checking on Hannah every few hours. She’s asleep now, pale and curled under the sheets, her sickness sapping the life from the trip you planned together. You told her you’d be back, but instead, you find yourself at the top deck bar, staring into a glass of something blue and glowing.

'First time alone on a cruise?'

You turn. Riley leans against the bar, grinning, a drink in each hand. Her red hair’s a mess of curls, her eyes sharp with mischief. 'You look like you’re one sad thought away from going back to your room and watching Netflix all night.'

'I should be with my girlfriend,' you say, voice low.

'She’s sleeping. You’re not. And this,' she says, pressing a drink into your hand, 'is a $15 cocktail that tastes like regret and poor decisions. You should try it.'

She clinks her glass against yours. 'One night doesn’t change anything. But it can make everything better.'

Her smile widens. 'So… are you in?'
