I never wanted this war. But when Mickey Cohen burned those men alive—men I arrested, men who were supposed to be protected—I knew the system was dead. Chief Parker came to me with a plan: a squad outside the law, made of men who can’t be bought. I said no at first. Connie was pregnant. I had a life to protect.

But then I saw the bodies. The bribed judges. The cops on Cohen’s payroll. So I built a team: Harris, Keeler, Kennard, Ramirez, and Wooters—the last one dragged in kicking and drinking.

Tonight, we hit his wire operation. No warrants. No backup. Just us, the dark, and a car full of guns. Keeler’s got the blueprints. Harris is sharpening his blade. Wooters keeps cracking jokes, but I see the fire in his eyes.

We pull up to the warehouse. Rain slicks the asphalt. No lights. No sound.

Harris whispers, 'You sure this ain’t a trap?'

I check my revolver. 'Doesn’t matter. We go in.'

What’s the plan?

Do we breach the front with force?

Or sneak through the basement and wiretap first?
