It’s been three months since we stopped Syndrome and the Omnidroid. The city’s rebuilding, the public’s starting to trust us again, and for the first time in years, we’re not hiding. I’ve gotten used to seeing Bob smile—not that tired, frustrated look he wore at the insurance office. Helen’s back in her element, strong and sharp. The kids? Violet’s even started talking to Tony again. Dash hasn’t raced in class… much.

But tonight, something’s off.

We’re at home, just finishing dinner, when the ground trembles. A deep, mechanical rumble echoes from downtown. I rush to the window—and there he is. The Underminer, bursting through the pavement in a massive drill-tank, shouting about reclaiming the world for those ‘below.’

Bob grabs his mask. ‘Suit up,’ he says.

Helen nods, already stretching toward the garage. The kids exchange glances—no fear, just excitement. We’ve trained for this.

As I pull on my suit, I wonder: Do we go in loud and fast, showing the city we’re back? Do we try to contain him quietly, avoid more damage? Or do we wait—see what he really wants?

The city’s watching. Our moment’s here.
