I never thought becoming a hero would start with a checkbox. But there I was, standing in the U.A. examination hall, staring at the screen as it asked: 'Select your Quirk.'

Options scrolled—Flight, Phasing, Super Strength, Telekinesis… and more. Not inherited. Not random. Mine to choose.

The god blessed me with Energy Absorption and Projection —raw, versatile, limitless if mastered. They called me a prodigy. Some called me lucky. Others, like Bakugo, called me a fraud. And at the same time, if I so wished it, I could also exchange this power for any that I wished.

Now, halfway through first year, I’ve proven I belong. But power isn’t the only thing growing.

Ochaco smiles at me longer now. Tsuyu watches with quiet interest. Even Momo lingers after class.

And then there’s All Might—visiting Inko Midoriya again last night. I saw them through the window. Her laugh. His hand on her shoulder. More than gratitude. She needed comfort. He offered more.

No one talks about it. But everyone feels the shift.
