Chapter 1 Chapter 1

I was the only daughter of the Alpha but treated like a slave. I got my wolf when I was 13 but after I changed my world came crashing down around me. It started off with them smacking me and it gradually became punching, throwing me into walls, using a silver whip on me or even just a silver chain.  Then they moved me from my room into the basement. I could only come out to fix the food and clean the house. One time when I wasn’t cleaning fast enough, they threw me down two flights of stairs then started kicking me in the stomach causing 4 of my ribs to break and one of them to puncture my lung. They only called the doctor to fix the rib that had punctured my lung. Other than that, one time I never got the help I needed. I had to suffer in pain trying to do my duties and do them fast. It was mine and my twin brother’s 20th birthday and the first time he could drink alcohol since he was training to be Alpha. Everyone got smashed with him. No one paid attention to me since I was the one making the food and serving it. I stayed to the shadows. When I noticed that everyone was relaxed and wouldn’t notice me, I snuck back into the house and ran to the basement. I grabbed my small tattered bag and stuffed some of my clothes into it. Then I ran back upstairs and stopped at the basement door to make sure no one was around. I carefully went to the kitchen and tried stuffing some easy to carry food in. Before I got done, I heard footsteps coming my way. I stashed my bag and acted like I was getting more food to take to the party. All of a sudden, the door smashed open to the kitchen and in comes my brother’s friend and soon to be beta Bash. “Where have you been bitch? We want more food!” He hollered at me. I bowed my head to him. “Yes sir. I was getting ready to bring these sandwiches out.” I said to him pointing to the variety of sandwiches I made. “That’s not good enough!” He yelled at me. “They need to be out there now!” he finished and started stalking towards me. With every step he took towards me I took one backwards. “Better yet I have a great idea.” He said happily. He grabbed my wrist forcefully and slammed me into the table hurting my back. He takes two more steps to get to me and there is a lustful glint in his eyes. I tried backing up but I couldn’t move as I was against the table and extremely scared. “You know bitch. You are very beautiful for a slave. I would love to have you for the first time.” He said huskily pinning me to the edge of the table. I whimper not knowing what he is going to do. I have a feeling but I don’t want to think he would do that to me. Before I knew it, he put his hand on my arms and made me turn around. He bent me over the table on my stomach. I started trying to fight it but he grabbed my wrist and pinned me down with one hand while the other roamed over my thighs. “Please don’t do this Beta. Please.” He laughed at me. “I’ll do what I please with you. No one will mind. Plus, I have to get practice in somehow since I should be finding my mate soon.” He said while going for the button of my jeans. “You should be happy I chose you.” He whispered in my ear then kissing down my neck. I cause a shiver of disgust to go down my spine. “Don’t do this. Your mate will not like it. To know what you did.” I said in a low voice trying to plead with him. “Bitch! Don’t you dare say that. She will know I’m not a virgin. Us males have to know how to please our mates. But you, you will never have one. You are not a favorite of the moon goddess like the rest of us. She looks down on you and laughs.” He snarled and slams my head into the table. He rips my pants down and starts undoing his down. He gets his down and lets his length free. I felt it on my back. I start to struggle more only hurting my stomach and wrist in the process. I can’t let this happen I thought. Next thing I know is his hand is around my front going under my panties. His starts to rub my clit and an unvoluntary moan escaped my lips. I can’t let this happen. I don’t want this to happen. I start thrashing around trying to loosen his grip on me. “No!” I screamed. Something inside of me let lose, I didn’t feel his body pressed to mine anymore. I take a chance and look up. I see he is across the room slumped down, unconscious. I hurry and pull my pants up and run over and grab my bag. I dash out the back door, hearing foot falls running to the kitchen. I ran as fast as could to the forest behind our house. I drop my bag and shift into my wolf. I grab the handle of my bag into my mouth and take off. Running as fast as I can. I ran for three hours only taking small stops to drink at a river. I would find small caves to rest in for a few minutes before I was up and running again.  I don’t know where I’m headed but I had to get out of there. I will not lose my dignity any more than I already have. I found a cave to sleep in for the night. I grabbed some brush that had fallen from the trees nearby and began to drag them to camouflage the opening. When I got it some what covered I went inside and settled down. I heard howls far in the distance. I knew they were looking for me. I hope they don’t find me. ‘I’m so sorry Nyx. I couldn’t do it anymore.’ I thought to my wolf. Nyx: You’re fine Everleigh. I understand. I just hope we don’t get caught before we get somewhere safe. ‘Me too’ I thought before darkness took over.

Chapter 2 Chapter 2

I awoke to the sound of rain outside of the cave I was in. Sleeping in wolf form was nice. You don’t get as stiff as if you slept in your human form on a cave floor. When I got my eyes adjusted to the dim light coming in the cave entrance, got up and stretched my limbs. I wonder what time it is? I slowly creep to the entrance and take a small sniff of the air trying to see if anyone was out there. I don’t smell anything. Hopefully the rain will have washed my scent away from the search party. I go over and grab the bag I brought in my mouth and poke my head out of the cave to get a look around. I don’t see anyone so I slowly come out. I look around for good measure before taking off again. I have no idea where I am but please goddess help me find solace. I prayed to the moon goddess multiple times ever since last night. I hope she can hear my plea. After a few hours of running, I’m getting tired again. I look around to see if I can find water and a hiding spot for a few minutes. I soon found a small pond where I drank so much it made my stomach hurt. Once I had my fill, I looked around a little and noticed I wasn’t to far off from a mountain, so I head that direction knowing mountains usually have caves. I climb around 30 feet up the mountain and come across a big enough opening for me to get into. I should be safe in here for a little bit. Once I get inside, I shift to my human form and put my clothes on. I grab the little bit of food I have and began to slowly eat. Since not eating at all yesterday I didn’t want to eat to fast and upset my stomach. I ate half of what I brought, wrapping up the rest and storing it back in my bag. I sit down against the cave wall and pull my knees up to my chest and put my chin on them. ‘Nyx are you ok?’ I asked her. Nyx: Yes, Everleigh but I do have to warn you. I have noticed a little movement around us while you were running. They were not close but they were not to far behind us. Oh no. They caught up to us. I can’t go back. I refuse. I can’t do it again. I started breathing really heavy and my heart started pounding before Nyx spoke again. Nyx: I did not sense that they were from our pack. I haven’t sensed anyone from our pack yet. I also don’t believe they are rogues. With hearing this my heart rate slowly went down. ‘Are you sure?’ Nyx: Yes. Wait. Close your eyes and listen. I did as she commanded, letting my hearing get better with one less sense obscuring it. I hear that pad of paws hitting the ground in the distance. ‘Nyx, what do we do?’ I asked freaking out. Nyx: I have a feeling we need go out there and wait for them. I have a good feeling, Everleigh. ‘I don’t know Nyx. I’m scared and I really do not want to go back to our pack.’ Nyx: Everleigh, please trust me. ‘Ok.’ I sighed before standing up and walking out of the cave in human form towards the bottom of the cave. Once at the bottom I don’t see anything so I find a tree and hide behind it peering around to see if I can see anything. I close my eyes again letting my hearing get better. I hear the wolves getting closer but they are slowing down. They are maybe 500 yards from where I am. If I hear right there is probably five of them. I hear a growl and jump were I’m hiding. I open my eyes and wait on the impending doom I’m about to experience. Nyx: Breath Everleigh. It’s alright. I really believe they will not hurt us. Calm down. They are almost here. ‘I trust you Nyx.’ All of a sudden, I hear the steps getting closer and closer. My heart rate picks up again before I start hearing the heavy steps of human feet waking close by. “I know you are here. Come out now!” Demanded a deep male voice. I stood terrified where I was shaking uncontrollably. I couldn’t move. “If I have to come find you and drag you out here it will not end to nicely.” Said the male voice again. “I will give you to the count of five. That’s the nicest I can be.” He said annoyed. “1….” No, I can’t do this I thought to myself shrinking down the tree to sit on the balls of my feet with my head in my hands. “2….” But if I don’t go out there it will be worse. “3….” He said as I heard him take a step in my direction. No please don’t. I don’t want this. Please just let me be. I thought to myself. “4….” I knew I was in trouble. I got down on my knees with my head bowed and turned the corner away from the tree in to their line of sight. As I did that, I seen that someone had taken a step towards the tree. I tried to scamper back but my foot got caught on the root of the tree and I fell face first onto the ground. “Well, well, well, what do we have here.” A different male voice said. “Looks like a rogue.” A whimper left me before I could stop it. I slowly got back on my knees keeping my head down and trying not to let my tears fall. It didn’t happen. A few stray tears leaked out before I could stop it. “Doesn’t smell like a rogue Dev.” Said the first guy. Out of the corner of my eye I see feet moving towards me. They balance on the balls of their feet and kneel before me. I’m frozen in my spot. I see the persons hand come towards me and I flinch. They pause for a moment for moving their hand again a little slower. I close my eyes expecting the person to hit me. It never came. I feel warmth spread up my jaw line as they place their finger under my chin and raise my face upwards. I keep my eyes closed willing the falling tears I’ve started shedding to stop and not make it worse. The person who is holding my chin up is using their other hand to move my fallen hair out of my face. “Open your eyes.” The guy demanded. I shook my head and whimpered. I didn’t want to see them hurt me. As if knowing what I’m thinking the guy holding my chin whispers, “Come on darlin, open your eyes for me. I promise I won’t hurt you.” I whimpered and let a few more tears out before opening my eyes. The first thing I see is beautiful light purple eyes with a gray ring around it. Then I smell him. Bourbon and cedarwood. My wolf is going crazy. ‘Nyx?’ Nyx: Mate. Mate. Mate. I gasp at the same time he says. “MATE!” Next thing I remember is falling then everything is black.

Chapter 3 Chapter 3

Unknown: “Alpha, we got a report of an unknown wolf on the southern border. It’s pretty fast and looks to be heading toward the west border.”“Evan, get Grey and Dev and meet me outside in ten minutes.” I told my Beta. Good thing I was already up for how early of a morning it is. “Yes sir!” He said bowing to me. What would a lone wolf be doing crossing our territory? Everyone knows where our land starts. Leaving right now we should be able to catch up with them by sun up as long as they actually took a rest tonight. I went to my closet and grabbed a small bag with a couple pairs of shorts in case I need to change to my form and headed down the stairs to go outside. Out on the lawn was my top three waiting on me. “What’s the plan Alpha?” asked Dev. “We are going to make it to the southern line and hope they actually take a rest tonight. I want to know why they crossed onto our territory without permission.”“Let’s do this.” Hollered Grey. He’s always the one ready for action. “Alright, lets go!” I said as I sat my bag down and started shifting into my wolf. The other four did the same. Once we were all shifted, we took off into the night. We have over 100 miles in diameter for our territory and our pack is directly in the middle of it. That way it takes the same amount of time to get to any of the borders we need to. “Alpha, what are we going to do when we catch up with them?” Dev asked. “We are just going to talk. No one is to do anything unless provoked.” I told them. “Yes Alpha.” They said in unison but you can tell they want a fight to ensue. They love the thrill but they will keep their heads on if they really need to. We ran for a few hours before we stopped to rest. We found a stream to drink out of before sitting down for a minute.   We are over half way there and the sun is slowly starting the turn the sky pink. We left at 4 am when Beta Evan got the mind link. I didn’t want to wait until the sun came up because there could be a possibility they wouldn’t stop for the night. I have a feeling that they did though. The closer we get to the border the more the feeling is there. Running in the forest is the is the most relaxing thing. At least in my opinion. The smell of the earth under my paws and the wind through my fur is amazing. “Zac, any word on were the wolf went that entered the territory?” I asked my patrol member. “Yes sir, the wolf is staying in one of the caves around the mountain.”“Thank you.” I said cutting the mind link. We speed up our run and race towards the mountain down south. The only mountains in our area. ‘Rye, do you sense anything unusual?’ I asked my wolf. Rye: Nothing unusual but I do have a good feeling about this. ‘What do you mean?’ Rye: I don’t know how to explain it but it’s just a good feeling. ‘Okay?’ Rye: Just trust me. ‘I always trust you. You are family.’ Rye: We are around 10 miles out and by the time we get there the sunrise will be up higher and we can see better further away. ‘Good. Thanks Rye.’ With that my wolf inclined is head to me. As we get closer to the mountain, I start getting a prickly feeling on my skin under my fur. It’s not a bad feeling, but it is weird. I’ve never felt something like it before. We slow down about a mile out. I smell a slight scent that peeks my interest but it’s barely there I can’t fully tell. The trees are starting to thin out right before we get to the base. I tell the guys to stop and that Evan need to change with me. Other two will stay as their wolves. Since we don’t know what we are dealing with. When I come out from behind the tree, I still smell that slight scent. It’s smells so good. I take a deep breath. I can barely smell it but it smells like apple and vanilla. “I know you are here. Come out now!” I demanded. After a few seconds there is no movement. “If I have to come find you and drag you out here it will not end to nicely.” I said starting to get annoyed. “I will give you to the count of five. That’s the nicest I can be.” Now I’m annoyed since they still haven’t come out or answered. “1….” I said taking a small step. Still nothing. “2…” I continued. No movement “3….” Seriously? Nothing? “4….” Out of nowhere a small girl is down on hands and knees coming out from behind the tree. With her head down. I cock my head trying to figure out why a girl is out here by herself. I slowly walk over to her and balance on the balls of my feet kneeling down. “Well, well, well, what do we have here.” I heard Dev say. “Looks like a rogue.”“Doesn’t smell like a rogue Dev.” I said. I slowly reach down with a finger to lift her head up but she flinches away from me. I stop for a second before I try again. I got my finger under her chin and lifted her head. Her hair has falling in front of her face so I slowly move it away. She kept her eyes closed not daring to look at me. She’s very beautiful. Dark black hair, pale skin. But I want to see her eyes. I need to see them. “Open your eyes.” I tell her but it sounded more like a demand. She whimpered and shook her head. I see a couple tears fall from her eyes. That made my chest tighten up. She probably thinks I’m going to hurt her. “Come on darlin, open your eyes for me. I promise I won’t hurt you.” I whispered to her. Trying to sooth her through my voice. She slowly opens her eyes. First thing I see is the stormy grey sky in her eyes followed by the blue ocean ring on the outside. Rye: It’s her! It’s her! ‘She is our mate isn’t she Rye?’ Rye: Yes! I see Rye bounding around in my head. I keep looking her in the eyes and say “Mate.” As soon as that word comes out of my mouth, I see her eyes go wide then to the back of her head as she passes out.

Chapter 4 Chapter 4

Unknown: “Alpha?” Asked Grey. I didn’t realize the other two changed back to human form. “She’s my mate guys.” I said as I picked her up. “Really?” Asked Tony. “We finally have our Luna?”“If she wants it yes. But from the looks of it she has not had a good life.” I told them. “From what I can tell it looks like she is underweight, dehydrated, and has possibly been hurt within the last few days. I can still see some bruising around the edge her shirt on top and arms.”“We need to get her back and checked out Alpha. I already mind linked Anthony to start heading our way a few hours ago, so we can meet him half way. Do you think we can get her to stay on your back somehow so you can run in your wolf form to make it faster?”“I don’t know Gray but we can try. It won’t be as fast but we can try. Grab the rope out my bag. Evan come take her as bad as I hate to. I’ll change and you guys’ best be careful putting her on me.” I growled at them. They worked carefully and efficiently to secure her to my back. They were able to tie the rope around her waist and chest and secure it around my chest right behind my front legs and around my mid-section. It was uncomfortable because of how tight they had to tie it but I would deal. Anything for my mate to make her safe. “Everyone ready?” I asked looking at them. They all nodded their heads. “Let’s go. The sooner we meet up with Anthony the better.” I finished taking off on a run. I was in the front, Evan on my right and Grey and Devin flanking right behind me watching to make sure she doesn’t fall off or start sliding. ‘Alpha, we are close to the mark. We will be ready when you get here.’ Anthony mind linked me. ‘We will be there in around an hour. We can’t go as fast as normal.’ ‘Is everything ok Alpha? Grey didn’t say anything. Just said to meet you half way from the southern border.’ ‘All is fine. You will see when we get there. We will hurry as fast as we can.’ I shut the mind link off and concentrated on running without hurting my mate. We never stopped once for a break. Once we hit the meeting spot I stopped before we got to the edge of tree line and had the other three shift back and get the ropes off so I could shift and change myself. When we walked out, I was carrying my little mate bridal style. Anthony looked concerned. “Is this the wolf that was spotted on the southern boundary?” Anthony asked concerned as he opened the door for me to slide in. I nodded my head. Grey sat up front with Anthony while Dev and Evan sat in the back with me. No one said anything while I held my little wolf in the lap the whole way home. As I held her, I couldn’t help but stare at her. She was extremely beautiful. Her hair is chestnut brown color pulled into a low messy bun. Porcelain skin. High cheek bones. Her skin is a little sunken it. You can feel the bones poking through her skin. I lightly skimmed my finger down the side of her face and jaw line. Her skin is so soft. I notice the slight bruise on her arm so I raised the sleeve of her shirt and see a bruise that looks like hand prints. I slowly pull her towards me and lift up the back of her shirt and see an almost faded bruise line a quarter way up her back. I see gashes that have almost healed and scars from others. Normally wolves don’t have scars unless it’s an extremely deep cut or it was made with silver or wolfsbane. I pull her shirt back down and just hug her to me. How could someone allow this to happen to a young girl? Let alone my mate? When we got closer to the pack house, I mind linked Dr. Wiles to meet me in the infirmary within 10 minutes. It took no time at all to get to the house. As soon as we stopped, I had the door opened and was stepping out before the engine was even shut off. I raced up the step and down the hall to the infirmary wing. When I stepped through Dr. Wiles had a bed already waiting and nurses on stand-by. I laid her on the bed and let the doctor take her. I followed behind them into the third room on the right. I stayed outside just in case she woke up but I watched through the window fighting my wolf who wanted to go in. I hear foots coming down the hall fast. I look up and see Evan, Dev, Grey and Anthony coming at me with worried expressions. Anthony is a very kind heart individual unless on the battlefield. He cares about everyone and wants to keep them safe. Especially women, children and elderly. He said most men can take care of themselves so he doesn’t worry about them. “Alpha, what’s going? Who is she?” Anthony asked looking through the window. I sighed looking back in the window. “She’s my mate, Anthony.” I hear a gasp from him before I feel his hand on my shoulder. I look at him and he is smiling. “Congrats, Alpha.”“Thanks, but I don’t know what I’m going to do now that she is here.”“What do you mean you don’t know what to do?” Grey said shocked. “If this is about…” Dev started before I cut him off. “I will figure it out. Now you three.” I said pointing to Dev, Grey and Evan. “Go get rest. You have patrol this afternoon.”“Yes, sir.” They said in unison before heading off to the housing wing. “You.” I said pointing to Anthony. “No one is to know about her. Do you understand? I need you to keep her away from this wing unless she is dying. Is that understood?”“Yes, sir.” He turned and started walking away. “One more thing, Don’t let anyone know I’m here either. That will keep some people from trying to come here to find me.” With his back towards me he nodded and continued walking out the doors. I sighed looking back in the window. I looks like they might have her check up done. I open the door and slowly walk into the room. I grab the chair from the corner and put it next to the bed sitting down and staring at my mate. “How is she doc?”“She is stable. I believe she passed out from exhaustion. But she is extremely malnourished. It doesn’t look like she has eaten but a handful of small foods in at least a week. Other than that, she is healthy.” I sigh and run my hands through my hair before looking at doc. “How long do you think before she wakes up?”“I gave her a small sedative to keep her asleep for a little while to help her heal. I have her on an I.V. to get liquids in her. So that will help. I would say at the latest tomorrow morning. Earliest may be.” He looks at his watch. “May be 6 or 7 tonight. But there is no promises. Everyone’s body heals differently. It all depends on her.” He finished and patted her hand. “Alright. Thanks doc. I’ll find you if something happens.” He nodded at me then walked out the door while I sat there staring at this beautiful creature in front of me. Several hours later there was no change. The only thing I heard was the footsteps of the nurses walking around and occasionally coming in to check her vitals. I’ve been wondering who she is and where she came from. If she was running away from someone or something. I was deep in thought and I didn’t hear anyone come in until their hand touched my shoulder startling me and bringing me back to my senses. I look up and see Evan. “Hey man, I brought you dinner.” He told me handing me a bag with food in it.” I took it and sat it on the floor beside me. “Thanks.”“How is she?”“She is dehydrated and malnourished but other than that in good health. Doc gave her a sedative to help her sleep and be able to heal properly.” I told him while grabbing her hand. “Have you thought about how to tell Eve about her? I know it’s the last thing you want to think about but your birthday a month ago was your last day to find your mate and you know she already has a girl here that you are to mate and claim in three days.”

“No but I will deal with it, Evan. I am the Alpha. Just because my mother is still the current Luna until I mate another doesn’t give her the right. She can step down any time she wants. I’m not stopping her.” I said in a low voice so I don’t disturb my mate. “I understand man. I don’t know how you’ve put up with it the five years already. If I was in your shoes, I would have thrown her in the dungeon already.” Evan said causing me to give a light laugh. “I have thought about it.” I joked which caused him to chuckle. “Alright man, I’ll get out of here but if you need anything just let me know. Okay?”“There is actually something you could do.” I mentioned looking at him. “Can you find someone in the pack who is about her size and see if they might have a set of clothes for her? I don’t want her to have to wear the torn ones she was wearing. Actually, just see if they have a pair of night bottoms and a pair of jeans. Then go to my room and grab one of my t shirts out of the closet.”“Yes alpha. If we can’t find anyone, I’ll have Dawn go to town and grab a few things for her.” He said. “Actually, I’ll just send her anyways. It will get her out of my hair and she loves shopping. Plus, she can get a few other essentials women need.”“Sounds good. Just don’t tell her I found my mate. Just tell her we found a girl passed out on the border and she was really hurt. That’s if she ask.”“Gotcha man.” Evan said heading towards the door. “Thanks Evan. For everything.” I whispered before he shut the door. After Evan left, I let go of my mate’s hand, picked up the bag Evan brought me and went to sit at the table in the corner of the room. I wasn’t really hungry but I know I needed to eat. I started picking the boxes out that the chef gave him. He sent a bacon cheeseburger with all the fixings including an onion ring on top, fries, a good portion of mixed fruit and a piece of cherry pie, along with BBQ sauce for my hamburger and ketchup for my fries. I didn’t realize how hungry I was until I finished it all. He even put a can of orange soda in there and a few small travel size bottles of wine. After I was done eating, I threw all the containers away and went back to the chair by the bed. After I sat down, I grabbed ahold her hand and started rubbing small circles on the top by her knuckles. I was completely enjoying the sensation of the sparks that flowed between our hands. As I held her hand, I laid my head down by her arm just calming myself in her vanilla and apple scent. At some point in time, I must have passed out. I don’t know how long I was asleep for but I got jerked awake by someone running their fingers through my hair. Then I remember, I’m in the infirmary with my mate. I smell her scent and relax a little. I sit up and run my fingers through my hair. I sit up straight in my chair and look at her. She has this deer in the headlight look. It’s cute, but she looks terrified. She is visibly shaking. I go to grab her hand and she snatches it away. Jumping off the bed and falling down on her butt. I jump out of my chair and race around to help her but as soon as come around she is scooting away from towards the wall. I stop. “I’m not going to hurt you darling.” She starts frantically looking around for something. I notice the door has caught her attention. She looks between me and the door. I get down on the balls of my feet again and put my hands up in a surrender type stance. “I mean you know harm. I promise. Will you please let me help you back on the bed?” She shook her head vigorously. “Please darling.” I pleaded. Shook her head again. I sighed. “Can I at least put the blanket around you? It is kind of cold in here. Or even hand it to you?” She thought for a second and nodded her head and held out her hand. I stood up, grabbed the blanket and took a couple small steps towards her and got back on the balls of my feet kneeling down and handing it to her. She hurried and took it and wrapped it around herself still keeping her eyes on me. “I want to ask you a few questions. Are you ok with that?” I asked her hesitantly. She looked down to the floor and shrugged her shoulders. “What pack did you come from? You don’t have the scent of a rogue but I can’t place the scent of the pack you come from.” She shrugged again. Ok. I’ll try another question. “Is there a reason You where passing on my land?” I see her shudder slightly. Must be something but she still isn’t talking. “Do I need to send out a bulletin to all the other territories stating you were found here and you are trespassing without the Alpha’s permission?”“No, please don’t.” She begged me in a whisper. Her voice was so angelic it made my heart skip a beat. “Why not?” She looked at me with tears in her eyes. I slowly went to her and wrapped my arms around her and pulled her into my lap. I gently pushed her head onto my chest. I felt her tense body slowly start to relax. “Please don’t send me back there. Please. I can’t go back.” She whispered as she started crying. “What is your name darling?” I asked in a soft tone against her head. “If I tell you, will you please not make me go back? She lowered her head to my chest. “I don’t understand. They told me I would never be worthy of a mate.” I heard her whisper to herself. “Who told you that?” I asked getting angry. She looked at me getting scared and tried getting out of my arms. I just held on to her and took a deep breath calming myself. “Whoever it was is a dipshit. You are worthy of a mate. You are worthy of me darlin.” I whisper to her bringing her face back up. “I don’t know what happened before and I won’t force you tell me. As soon as my lips leave her head, she puts her hand up there holding the spot I kisses. Her eyes meet mine looking surprised. I give a little chuckle. “You are safe here ok. I sit up a little straighter and look over the bed pulling my mate more into me. I see it’s Dev and visibly relax. “Evan asked me to bring these by for you sir. He was having issues keeping his mate from coming here and dropping them off.”“Thanks Dev. Put them on the bed please.” Dev walks in and places the bag on the bed and looks at us on the floor with a small smirk. ‘Alpha, is she ok?’ Dev mind links me nodding towards Everleigh. ‘Yeah. She’s just freaking out a little. Can you do me a favor since you’re good with finding information?’ ‘Anything sir.’ ‘Find all the information you can on Everleigh White with out anyone outside the pack knowing.’ He nodded to me before looking at Everleigh. “I’m glad to see you’re awake ma’am and that you are okay.” He bowed and went out the door.
