Vivid (BoyxBoy) {Pipe Dream: Book I}

The biting winter wind whipped through the skeletal trees, carrying with it the scent of sleet and decay. Kagen, or Kae as everyone called him, shivered, burying his hands deeper into his armpits. His breath plumed in the frigid air, a stark white cloud against the gloom.
“Cody!” he called, his voice thin and swallowed by the vast, silent woods. Only silence answered.
He trudged on, his boots sinking into the ankle-deep sludge of dirt and half-frozen snow. The sky above was a bruised canvas of grey, threatening to unleash more of the damned snow at any moment.
Ahead, partially obscured by the barren branches, he spotted a crumbled ruin of a small, weird-looking grey brick building. It was one of those ancient public toilets, clearly long abandoned. Rounding its decaying side, he opened his mouth to call again, “Co–”
Before the syllable could fully escape, a harsh yank from his side slammed him against the cold, crumbling brick, ending his cry in a strangled squeak.
