Visions Of Death 3

The night air at the McKinley High Senior Fair was thick with the scent of popcorn and cheap perfume, buzzing with the excited shouts of graduating students. Flashing lights from the rides painted the sky in electric hues, and the distant screams from the 'High Dive' were just another part of the joyful chaos. Among the throng, Dani, her dark brown hair in a loose braid, laughed, leaning against the rail as her brother Kevin and boyfriend Jason descended from the dizzying heights of the ride, grins plastered on their faces.
"Oh my God," a voice giggled beside her. Wendy, her long brown hair catching the carnival lights, lowered her camera, already reviewing the picture she'd snapped of the boys' exhilarated faces. She looked up at the glowing 'High Dive' sign, then back at her camera, a slight frown creasing her brow.
"Hey, Wendy, did you get a good picture?" Dani asked, nudging her best friend. Wendy nodded, but her eyes held a flicker of something unreadable, a fleeting unease that Dani didn't quite catch amidst the festive din.
