There on the hospital bed, surrounded by beeping devices, laid a little girl who was covered in blood. Her life was hanging by a thread. Her mother, Celena Stone, was sitting next to the bed, holding her hands tightly. Celena was covered in tears. She forced herself to endure the pain deep down and comforted her daughter, "Be a good girl, Jovie. Your father will come back to see us as long as you're a good girl.""Mom, it hurts so much! Am I going to die soon? I want to see Dad. I'm not a bastard. My father is very powerful—" Before Jovie could finish, she started shaking all over because of the pain. The grand ceremony that day marked the moment Liam took over the Cole family as the head. Right before the ceremony started, Liam suddenly received a call from an unfamiliar number. During that call, the voice that he heard countless times in his dreams told him that he had a daughter. "Daughter? Celena!" It was after Liam regained his senses that he realized she hung up. He immediately called her back, but nobody answered. Liam was so anxious that could not remain in his seat anymore. He immediately abandoned everybody present at the ceremony. With the Cole family and leaders of all countries watching him, he rushed out of there. Everybody in the Cole family started to panic. That was the handover ceremony and the star of the show was Liam. But he ran off at the most glorifying moment. Liam was exuding a frosty air all over him. He ran to the heliport at lightning speed and rushed onto a military helicopter. His few trusted subordinates who were following behind him jumped onto the helicopter too. "Find out the specific location in Drunham City. Find her as fast as you can!" Liam bellowed ferociously, tossing his phone to his subordinate. At that moment, the air of hostility that Liam exuded was not concealed at all. His trusted subordinates fought in wars with him for years, but even they were frightened to see him like that. When Liam thought of the fact that his daughter—whom he never met before—was about to die, he was utterly heartbroken. The veins at his temple were popping, and tears were welling in his eyes. His subordinates on board were shocked to see him crying with such sorrow at that moment, and that made them even more terrified deep down. The person who received Liam's phone quickly found the exact address by checking the location of the number. Then, they accelerated and rushed toward Drunham City. At that moment, Liam was clenching his fists nervously. He was so emotional that he was trembling all over. The beautiful and tough woman in his memory. Their daughter. Jovie. Seven years passed. He always thought he would be alone for the rest of his life. He never expected that he would have a daughter. At the thought of his daughter, Liam could not control the excitement in him anymore. He sneered as he looked at Celena, who was on the floor. The man said, "Celena, don't be ungrateful. Your family only got to where you are today because of my family. You should feel lucky that I'm fond of you. "I didn't even mind that you have a bstard with you, yet you're still asking for so much. She was only met with a car accident today, but there's no telling what could happen next time!" A great sense of resentment started filling Celena's eyes as she looked at the man who was acting all high and mighty. She rushed to him and grabbed his collar before she bellowed hysterically, "Trent Walker! It's you! You're the one behind Jovie's car crash! You animal! Jovie's only six. She is just six!" Celena howled as she yanked on Trent's collar. While she was tugging at him, her nails scratched his neck, creating a red mark. Trent winced as he touched his neck in pain. He was pissed off when he saw the faint blood stain on the tip of his finger. He slapped Celena's face before he grabbed her jaw and said fiercely, "Celena, you brought this on yourself. How much effort have I spent on you all these years? "Don't you forget who's the person who helped you when you were pregnant with that bstard back then? How dare you reject me?" "You son of a btch! You'll be punished! I'm going to kill you!" Celena bellowed. How could Celena stay sane after she found out that Trent was the culprit who got her daughter involved in the car crash? She was dying to kill Trent and shred him to pieces! Trent was infuriated by her resistance. He grabbed her hair and slapped her face a couple of times. As he watched Celena's face all red and swollen, he sneered. "You want to kill me? Who do you think you are? What an ungrateful wench. Hmph! With just one word from me, I can make sure no hospitals in the city would treat that bstard of yours on the bed!" Trent forcefully turned Celena's head to make her look at Jovie. "Look at her. She seems like she's not going to be able to hang on anymore." Jovie had an oxygen mask on as she lay on the bed. She was fading fast as she watched Celena humiliated by Trent. While choking back a sob, she said, "Y-you're a bad person! Hurry up and let my mom go! I have a father. I'm not a b*stard! My father's a superhero. He'll be back soon." Celena's tears gushed down her cheeks when she saw Jovie in that state. Feeling powerless, she wailed, "Please save Jovie, Mr. Walker. I was wrong. I shouldn't have been ungrateful. Save me. I'll agree to anything you ask as long as you can save her." Celena kept begging on her knees while wailing at the top of her lungs. She did not even care about how painful her face was. Trent just stood next to her, looking down at her as she begged for mercy. While he straightened his collar, he shook his head and clicked his tongue. "Celena, why bother pretending to be noble before this? How great it would've been if you just accepted your reality. I didn't want to do this to you either. Look at you. You're crying so much sorry that I feel heartbroken for you!" said Trent.

Chapter 4 Chapter 4

After saying that, Trent took out his handkerchief and helped Celena up. As he gently wiped the blood stain off the corner of Celena's face, she did her best to endure it as she had no guts to resist. Trent ordered, "I'll give you ten minutes to clean yourself up. I'll wait for you outside. Don't even think about pulling any tricks. Just think about it carefully. Who else in the entire Drunham City would dare to help you if you do." Upon saying that, he leaned in and whispered into Celena's ears, "I really can't wait to have the most beautiful woman in the city under me, begging me for mercy. Hahaha." Trent left the emergency room, feeling satisfied. He told his subordinates at the door, "Keep a good eye on the emergency room later. She then stuffed her phone into Jovie's hand and went to the restroom to clean herself up. Celena looked at herself in the mirror. She forced herself to suppress the fear and tears that filled her eyes. After she came out, she comforted Jovie a little. Then, she secretly stuffed a paring knife into her purse and went out. Meanwhile, Trent's patience was wearing thin as he waited outside at the entrance of the hospital in his Mercedes-Benz. But when he saw Celena coming out, a happy grin appeared on his face. Celena saw Trent smiling, but his smile terrified her. She gripped her purse so hard that her knuckles turned pale. She took a breath and got into the car. As soon as she got in, the car drove off. Trent was beyond satisfied at that moment. He put an arm around Celena's shoulders while holding a cigar in the other hand. The grin on his face was simply wicked. At that moment, the medical personnel were blocked outside the emergency room by the people guarding the door. Someone tried to barge in, but Trent's subordinate kicked him, making him fall. One of Trent's subordinates threatened them, saying, "Mr. Walker said nobody's allowed to enter. Don't blame us for not showing you mercy if you insist on going in!""The child inside isn't going to make it if she doesn't get her surgery immediately!""That's right! She's in a severe condition after being run over!" The medical personnel who were stopped outside were so anxious that they were about to burst into tears. With the phone around, she could call her father. However, the phone was already broken. She could no longer see her father anymore.

Chapter 5 Chapter 5

"All of you are bad people! My dad will beat you up. Dad!" Jovie was already in a critical condition, so crying and struggling so much made her suddenly throw up some blood. Then, she lost consciousness because her oxygen mask was yanked off. The medical personnel were incredibly saddened to see that. That was a human life that was fading away. All of them teared. One of them could not hold it in anymore. He tossed the files in his hands on the floor and acted like he was about to rush into the emergency room. However, he ended up being violently beaten up by a few people instead. Nobody else dared to make any reckless moves anymore after they saw what happened to him. They had no idea how the child offended Trent. They had no clue where her father was either. He still did not show up. Suddenly, a few military helicopters appeared in the sky above the hospital! Everybody in the hospital ran to see who it was. The medical staff at the door to the emergency room went to the windows and pressed themselves against the glass to look outside as well. All they saw was dirt flying everywhere as a few helicopters landed on the empty plain at the entrance of the hospital. Soon after, a tall man in a military uniform jumped out of the helicopter and rushed toward the hospital with a frosty air about him. By the time Liam got to the entrance of the emergency room, he saw a little girl covered in blood lying motionless on the hospital bed. He felt his heart was stabbed. The people who stopped the medical personnel at the door saw Liam suddenly appearing in a military uniform. They knew they could not afford to mess with him, so they quickly moved aside, not daring to make a sound. The weak Jovie looked at Liam and did her best to put on a smile. She was certain that her father arrived. "Dad!" Liam's hand was shaking as she stroked Jovie's head. He was so heartbroken that tears just kept streaming down his face. If he paid attention, his daughter would not have ended up in this state. "Jovie, I'm back. I'm sorry. It's my fault that I came late." Liam blamed himself and had no way to vent the anger that filled his chest. Jovie said, "Dad, you're finally back! I'm not a b*stard. I have a father! It hurts, Dad! Mom has been taken away by the bad guy!" Her voice was getting weaker by the second. In the end, she slowly closed her eyes and tears rolled down her cheeks. That completely broke Liam. The medical personnel at the door bawled when they saw the way Jovie looked and heard her disjointed words. Would she have been in better condition if they were braver and rushed in earlier? "Ah!" Liam bellowed in pain as he clenched his fist tightly. The rage and hostility within him could not be suppressed anymore. He rushed toward Trent's subordinates and knocked them out in a few punches. It was because of their interference that Jovie could not receive her treatment immediately. At the thought of that, Liam desperately wanted to skin them alive, but even that would not be enough to vent his hatred. Liam hugged Jovie and stroked her cheeks gently. In a soft voice, he said, "Jovie, I won't let you die. Trust me." He turned to his subordinate, Calum Chanter, and ordered, "Calum, tell all of The Igrargon from the Pendragon Warriors to rush to Drunham City immediately. No matter where the other three assistants are, tell them to get her now! | "Also, tell my old man to let Louie come over! Remember, you must get them here as soon as possible and at all costs!" Upon hearing that, Calum saluted him and replied in a booming voice, "Yes, sir!" Liam's arms tightened around his daughter. "Jovie, let's go get your mother." Meanwhile, the Pendragon Warriors were standing in formation far away in Rotherham. After they received Liam's orders, the other three assistants rushed to Drunham City with 10,000 members of The Igrargon. Once Arthur learned that something happened to his granddaughter, he ordered Louie Cole to do whatever it would take to avenge the little princess.

Chapter 6 Chapter 6

Meanwhile, the mayor of Drunham City, Malcolm Lynch, rushed to the airport after he received a notification. He was told by his superior that the world-renowned doctor, David Jensen, was coming to the city that day. Even though they kept the news under wraps, a number of the rich and famous got the word and rushed to the airport. Rumor had it that the legendary doctor had impeccable skills. He could breathe life back into the dead and cure any complicated conditions. Meeting a legend like him was something several people have dreamed of. If they could be acquainted with him, it would be easier for them should they need to seek treatment from him in the future. As soon as Dr. Jensen got off the plane, Malcolm and his men went up to him and greeted him respectfully, "Welcome to Drunham City, Dr. Jensen. I'm Malcolm Lynch, the mayor of this city." Malcolm extended his hand for a handshake upon saying that. To his surprise, Dr. Jensen did not even look at him at all. He just kept staring into the distance and checking his watch from time to time. At that moment, a helicopter landed. Three military Jeeps stopped next to them as well at the same time. Three soldiers in military uniform got out of the cars and stood by them. A few people jumped out of the helicopter and they were Liam's assistants, Joseph Chanter, Albert Chanter, and Victor Chanter. Calum glanced at Dr. Jensen and the doctor nodded his head to greet him. Without exchanging a single word, they got into the car. They ignored Malcolm and the others and sped off. Malcolm and his men were confused. He received a call from his superior, asking him to pick the doctor up. Malcolm did meet the doctor, but the doctor left with someone else. How was Malcom going to explain to his superior? Those rich and famous who were present were puzzled as well as they looked at Malcolm. "Mr. Lynch, why did Dr. Jensen leave with those people? Why do their military uniforms look like-" Malcolm could not understand as well. The others had no idea who those men were, but he knew. Those soldier's shoulder sleeve insignia showed that they were the Pendragon Warriors. However, why would the Pendragon Warriors suddenly appear in Drunham City? Malcolm quickly turned to the police chief, Howard Mosier, and ordered, "Put someone on their tail and see where they are going. Remember, don't stop them no matter what they do. You just need to report on the situation." It was rare to see Malcolm looking so solemn. It made Howard uneasy, so he asked, "What the hell is going on, Malcolm?""Howard, I'll have to go to the chief. You should get the arrangements done. Remember to not bother and offend those people," said Malcolm before he hurried into his car and left. Meanwhile, Liam saw Dr. Jensen arrive at a mansion in the suburb of Drunham City in a hurry. They did not have time to catch up. Liam simply led him upstairs to check on his daughter. As Dr. Jensen checked on Jovie's injuries, Liam stood at the side and asked anxiously, "How's her injury, Dr. Jensen? Could she be treated?""Don't worry, sir. I'm here," Dr. Jensen answered without looking up as he was busy taking care of Jovie's wounds. Liam finally felt relieved after hearing that. But when he saw that his daughter was covered in injuries, he started feeling worried again. "Dr. Jensen, since Jovie's hurt so badly, would she have any complications after this?" Liam asked. Dr. Jensen replied, "I'll be honest with you. Jovie is severely injured. She has multiple bone fractures in her body, but the worst is her left leg. "I'll perform surgery on her later, but with her left leg being so badly injured, everything will depend on how she recovers after this. There's no telling to what extent she can recover." A murderous intent surged within Liam upon hearing that. He wondered who the hell hurt Jovie so badly.

Liam brushed Jovie's head gently. He already lost count of how many times he did that because Jovie was incredibly adorable. She was as pretty as a doll. Looking at her face simply made Liam's heart melt. "Jovie, now that I'm back, you'll be a little princess from now on. Nobody will have the guts to call you a b*stard anymore. I'll protect you and your mother from now on. No one will dare to bully you anymore," said Liam. His gaze turned frosty when he mentioned the word b*stard. His daughter should be the most precious little princess in this world. How dare they bully his daughter like this? Because of his neglect in the past few years, his daughter was harmed. A sense of guilt washed over Liam because of that. With a catch in his throat, he said, "Dr. Jensen, I'll leave it all to you. Regardless of what the future will be like, I just hope Jovie can be fine now. Everything else is not a problem. Just let me know if you need anything." Dr. Jensen had never seen Liam so humble before. He shook his head and said, "You're too kind. This is something that I should do. I'll do my very best to treat Jovie. Don't worry and just leave it to me." Liam carefully carried Jovie and put her on the bed for her to go get her surgery. He kissed her forehead, then he stepped aside and watched Dr. Jensen wheeled the bed out of the room. There were still important matters to be handled at that moment. Liam composed himself a little, then he turned to ask Calum, "What have you found out?" Calum and the others already changed out of their military uniforms so it would be easier for them to move around. Standing at the side, he quickly reported to Liam about the information he found out, "The person who deliberately orchestrated this is Trent. He's from the Walker family in Drunham City. He even specifically asked to have Jovie severely injured in this car crash. He wanted to use this to threaten Mrs. Cole and make her submit to him. He ordered his men not to let Jovie get treatment after Mrs. Cole left." He should be addressing Celena as Mrs. Cole, should he not? Celena already gave birth to Liam's child, so it should be right to refer to her as his wife. While Calum was thinking about that in secret, the word just rolled off his tongue the more he said it. She probably would have resented him. Liam already felt that he wronged Celena, but what Calum would say next immediately made Liam blow his lid. "She's been taken to the Nightwalker Club by Trent. Also-" Calum glanced at Liam and saw that his expression darkened. He then chose to only talk about the main points as he continued, "After Mrs. Cole's family found out she was pregnant seven years ago, they deemed her as promiscuous and kicked her out of the family. They even removed her from the family tree. "Mrs. Cole was taking of Jovie by herself all these years, so life hasn't been good. You can even say it was quite miserable. "Because of what happened back then, Trent took a fancy to Mrs. Cole. After she left her home, he would occasionally help her out when in fact, all the treatment Mrs. Cole received was arranged by him. "Half a month ago, Trent wanted Mrs. Cole to be his mistress, but she refused. Trent was infuriated, so he arranged for someone to run Jovie over. With a strong intent to kill, he headed out and ordered, "To the Nightwalker Club!" The Walker family was truly something else. Not only did they betray Liam's family back then, but they were also harming his daughter and Celena at that moment. One by one, Liam would slowly settle the score with them for everything they did.
