Chapter 1 Where The Hell Are We?

Ji'lahni's POV: Mina! "Where the hell are we? We're in the middle of nowhere." I yelled. "We're about to come up missing out here in these damn woods!" Shawna whined from the back seat. "Ji'lahni I swear this is where the address you gave me took us to. I followed it exactly as that G****e lady told me." Mina said looking confused and a little scared. We have been driving since four this morning and it was now almost seven pm and we still haven't made it to the Crystal Wolf Lake Reserve. I'm pretty sure that my legs are numb and my ass died four hours ago. We were supposed to be performing for a mating anniversary and also planning something they called a mating ceremony for our good friend Lateri Crystal. She took our dance class to Spruce up her love life six months ago. She was sixty years old, but she had aged beautifully, she looked at least forty-five. She had long beautiful, curly brown hair, hazel eyes that changed color whenever she was excited or happy. We noticed that whenever she got a tough dance move, or a compliment when she remembered the choreography, her eyes would change color. She had beautiful tanned skinned, it was almost like it had a golden glow, like an Egyptian goddess. We became her instant daughters; she called us every Wednesday night at the same time and we would talk for hours. She really has become important to us since we are all the family we had. Our parents died in an accidental fire during Christmas seven years ago. Mina was sixteen, me and Shawna were eighteen and we have been together ever since. It's weird that they call it a mating ceremony instead of just saying a wedding, but oh well, with the money they're paying us they can call it whatever the hell they want. Me and my cousins were the owners and operators of JMS Wedding planning and also owners of JMS dance studio for BBW women like us. We mostly dance to sexy sensual, hip-hop, r&b, and even some pop music. We each had our specialty.  Mina was hip hop r&b; Shawna was r&b and pop and I do sensual and r&b. We also added self-defense classes with our best friend Lynn, who is a bad ass at everything crossbow, shooting, sword, and martial art. She's BBW as well, we met her in college, and we have been inseparable ever since. She has also been training us for the past five years, yes we can do it all. We have to work twice as hard, and we have our limits, but we always said work smarter not harder. So, we had to learn how to use our skills differently.  We train every day and although we're not as good as Lynn, but please UNDERSTAND we can damn sure make her ass stumble. That's saying a lot since she was black and Asian and has been training since she came out of the womb. She would have been with us in these damn woods, but she had family stuff, so she won't get here until tomorrow. But we do have her toys in the trunk just in case we have to fuck some shit up out here. We're supposed to be staying here for the next three weeks until the wedding, because we live so far away, it made sense for us to just stay until after the mating ceremony. They paid us so well that we would have stayed longer if they asked. The bride is Lateri's soon to be daughter-n-law which I don't think she likes her all that well. While she was taking our class, she would roll her eyes at the mention of her daughter-n-law. Come to think of it, I don't think she told us that woman’s name until she asked us to do the mating ceremony.  But she loved her son and talked about Makahi Crystal every single time we talked. She said it was time that he settled down and started a family. Since him and the name we cannot mention have been dating for three years, it was time they sealed the deal, even if she don't like her "uppity ass." Her words not mine. She was hoping that he would find his Luna, she called it, don't ask me what that means because I don't know. But giving this is a Mating ceremony, I just chucked it up to, it must be a cultural thing. She seemed like an earthy type person who walks barefoot outside, preferred sleeping outside on the ground, and living off the land so to speak. Far different from our southern asses. Don't get me wrong we're country and definitely know how to farm, cook, garden, and build things to survive. We learned that from our grandparents and parents, but that was a different time for them. Even though we lived that way back then, we have also evolved as well. So, we not doing none of that survival shit, unless we have to, like an apocalypse or some shit. About three months ago Lateri called me and asked that we do her son's wedding, sorry mating, and performed for her anniversary.  We essentially declined, due to the fact that she was halfway across the country in a place that we have never even heard of, and we would be losing money if we tried to plan that at our rates. But she wouldn't take no for an answer and offered us damn near what we would make in a year. So here we are, we flew as far as we could and rented a car to travel the rest of the way, which is where we are at the present time lost as hell. "Look, pull over so we can get Lynn's guns out the trunk, because it's getting dark. I'll be scared as hell even with a gun, but hopefully fear will make me pull the trigger. Because being mauled by a bear or a damn mountain lion, won’t be fun at all. That would be some fucked up shit ,for three black women to be killed in the damn woods. You know damn well black folks don't do the woods at night, hell not even in the day if we think big ass animals are in them. Mina pulled over and I hopped out to get Lynn's bags.  "And get the knives too we gone be tomb raider out here."  Shawna said. Mina looks at Shawna through the rear-view mirror frowning. "And what the hell you gone do with them knives? Yea you know how to use them, but you know damn well you hate violence of any kind." Mina teased. Shawna hated conflict she was quiet, reserved, avoided arguing, and drama. Mina on the other hand was smart mouthed and could back it up. As for me, I observe and speak only when spoken to, you get the same energy you give me. I don’t like to fight but I will if you cross the line, and we always protect each other no matter what. Getting back in the car handing Shawna the bag of goodies. "Here, I just got the whole bag. I wasn’t standing out there all that long time, trying to find that stuff.” I said, closing the car door. " Damn this shit is heavy, I can see right now that Lynn is planning on working our asses to death. I thought we would catch a small break for three weeks, but she damn near brought everything she has in her studio." Shawna sighed heavily. "You already knew Lynn wasn’t giving us no damn break. You remember what happened last year when we took a week off to vacation in the Bahamas. We damn near died when we got back in the studio, because our dumb asses tried to do our classes, then turned around and tried to do hers."  I shuddered at the remembered pain in every part of my body, fingernails included. We literally crawled into our apartment every day for two weeks straight. I feel like at least two of those nights, we just slept at the front door until after two am. Another half hour had me dozing off. I was exhausted because we have literally been up for three days straight: prepping, planning, and organizing for this trip. "Hey look, I think I see something, it looks like some kind of guard shack." Mina said tapping me on the shoulder. I hopped up on full alert praying that we had finally made it. "Thank God I hope we're in the right place or they can tell us where to go.” Shawna said, zipping the weapons back up only halfway, just in case we needed to move quick if whoever this is tried to kidnap us. I don’t blame her because you never know in these damn woods, but here we fucking go. I don't know why but I feel like this is about to be some weird shit we're not use to. I hope we're not walking into some type of hippy weird shit where folks walk around with their ass, titties, and dicks out. Like the people who just be having sex with any and everybody. I may be open minded and respect people's culture but don't think I'm joining in none of that shit. Now Mina and Shawna would definitely consider joining, because them some damn horny Bitches, but anyway, here goes nothing.

Chapter 2 The Humans Have Arrived!

Makahi: POV KAHI! Are you even listening?! My mother yelled so loud on the phone that even my Beta Montego flinched. Sighing, "Yes mother I heard you but I told you I have a call with the other alphas in this region because of the recent rogue attacks. We're trying to figure out if their growing in numbers and are planning an even bigger attack. I asked you to postpone the ceremony until we have this thing sorted out." I growled into the phone, not happy at all that I couldn't get her to change her mind about inviting human women to our pack lands. They are far too weak to protect themselves if the pack was attacked. I also have to command all unmated males to not touch them, and make sure the children don't shift in front of them. God forbid if they saw one of us shift into a Wolf that would be a nightmare to clean up. There were some humans that knew about wolf shifter, but it was mostly those who do business with us or had a run in with a random rogue.  But for the most part, humans don't know werewolves exist and we prefer to keep it that way. Still yelling "Kahi  I told you how important this was to me; besides we need to expose our children to humans while their young. We need to teach them how to interact with humans when they encounter them. I realized that we know very little about humans, when your father stepped down as alpha. When we went on that yearlong road trip, visiting our relatives in other packs. We would go sightseeing, which meant we would be around humans and we found out that we are very different. We decided that we would learn as much as we can, which is how I met my beautiful chocolate drops. Besides, we're the strongest pack in this damn country. No rogue wolf would dare think of breaching our borders.  We became the most feared pack in the country, by being smart and also training our pups, as soon as they learned to walk. That happened because of your great grandparents, grandparents, your parents, and now you. As the Alpha of Crystal Moon, under your leadership, no one is worried about a few rogue attacks hundreds of miles away." My mother said with confidence. What she said was true, we were said to be the strongest and the most feared pack in this country. With our warrior numbers reaching well over five hundred, along with our intensive combat training, and our ability to stay ten steps ahead of our enemies, works really well for my pack. All it took was for us to observe, learn your enemy, plan, and attack them, before they even know you were there. That’s how those before me did it, and that’s how I do it, which is why this phone call was so important. I need every piece of information down to what those rogues were wearing. Yes I’m that thorough. Hearing my mother sighing again, snapped me out of my thoughts. "Besides Kahi I really miss my girls, we talk every week. I feel like I know them just as I know you. They're so beautiful with their milk chocolate skin and bright, blue-colored eyes, except my Lynn she has caramel skin with hazel-colored eyes. Oh, and they’re quite curvy as well, not like that skin and bones you’re mating. They're big girls who are smart, funny, very light on their feet for being humans, and they're total sweethearts. We bonded during our stay in South Carolina, the town was so small that we had decided we wouldn’t stop. We didn’t think it would be much to see, but when I saw their company’s billboard, something told me to stop. I’m so glad I did, because they’re like the daughters I never had." My mother said sadly. I rolled my eyes. "You wouldn't feel that way if you gave Summer a chance, she will be your daughter in a few weeks." I said smiling. I could literally hear my mother rolling her eyes through the phone. "Listen I told you I'll be civil toward her because you're going to mate her and have me some grandbabies, but that's all you're gonna get. She is very rude, disrespectful, has no empathy or compassion, for none of the women in our pack. She doesn't spend time with none of the other pack members besides her uppity ass friends. Do you know she hasn't started her Luna training yet? And that's a big job; being a Luna isn't about being a pretty face. You have to know how to connect with the entire pack, make sure that they're nurtured, because the Luna is the heart of the entire pack." My mother finished in a stressful tone. I sighed in frustration, because I knew she was right. Summer has been putting off training for weeks now. She’s totally focused on her, and her friends’ dresses. Summer wanted  a big glamorous mating ceremony. We have argued more times about that in the last few weeks, then we've ever argued in the three years we’ve been together. Summer was easily the prettiest alpha female in our pack. She was also a skilled fighter, although she doesn’t show it often, or hardly ever. She was really smart and kind when she wanted to be. Nobody thought that we would last, because we are polar opposite. I’m your typical alpha like a quiet storm, reserved, feared, strong, and protective of everyone within my borders. I have been known to show compassion on occasions, but I needed my members to respect me as their alpha first and not their friend. No one was happy about me and Summer’s mating ceremony, especially my mother. When she found out what Summer had in mind for our mating ceremony, I thought my mother would blow a gasket. But she took that as the perfect opportunity to invite these human females. Summer was so shocked at my mother's excitement that she accepted without thinking twice. She real life thought she had finally soften my mother up and got her acceptance. that was far from the reality but she was so happy, I couldn’t tell her the truth. So, I made a deal with my mother, that if she could be civil to Summer, until the mating, then she could hire her precious humans. She readily agreed with everything that Summer wanted for our mating ceremony. I’m sure we will be flat broke once this is all over. This ceremony was so different from a traditional mating ceremony. We usually have our entire pack gather at the Moon Goddesses sacred grounds. It was a magical area surrounded by four big Boulders, that were blessed by the Moon Goddess, thousands of years ago with a mating stone in the center of the grounds. It is also where we go on the Full Moon, where the magic and power is the strongest. We’re already physically  strong, but we’re almost ten times stronger during the full Moon. During a mating ceremony we declare our bond to the Moon Goddess and ask for her blessing.  Then we slice our hands, press it against the mating stone in the center of the circle, while our elders perform the mating ritual. They start by speaking the language of old, when the stones begin to glow, that’s how we know that the Moon Goddess has accepted our chosen mate. We seal the mating ceremony by marking each other in human, and then in wolf form. Once the mating is complete, everyone shift and we go for a pack run in celebration. Where we let loose, we eat, play, hunt, and on occasion, some even have sex. We do it that way, when we choose our mate, which happens at the age of twenty-five. We have to visit almost every pack, without ever finding our other half mate before we can pick a chosen mate. It’s the other piece of our wolf's soul, that the moon goddess takes from our wolves, and places it into our mates. When our mate is near, our wolf feels the connection almost immediately, then our wolf instincts will drive them to mate and mark their mate. Our wolves, although are strong and fearless, always feel incomplete without the other piece of our soul. There is always this ache, that we both feel will be there forever. It only gets worse as we age; we get angrier, more aggressive and some wolves have even lost their mind after they hit forty. That’s why as the alpha, I’m required to take a chosen mate, if by the age of twenty-five, I still haven’t found my other half mate. I’ve loved only Summer for the past three years. We have talked about what we would do if we met our other half mate, before we turn twenty-five. She feels that we should reject them immediately, before we get consumed with the need to mate and mark them. She believes that she cannot love another as she loves me. I feel the same, but I also have no idea how I would feel, if I ever met my other half mate. There have been wolves who have rejected their other half mate for another, but it is too few to mention. It’s very painful for a wolf to reject their other half mate, because it angers the moon goddess. She chooses your other half mate; she finds the one who is perfect for you. To reject your mate is seen as a disrespect to the Moon Goddess. So, she made it painful to go against who she has chosen for you. When Summer proposed for us to reject our mates, I didn't agree, or disagree. I kind of  let it float in the air, because I didn’t feel like it was important to make that promise.  I honestly felt that I would never meet my other half anyway. "I swear Kahi, I will send your father down there to drag your ass to our ceremony if you don't show up tonight. My girls will be performing for me and your father." My mother yelled. "Ok mother, I will do my best to get to your mating anniversary, which isn't a real thing by the way. But as soon as I'm done, I will be there to meet my human adopted siblings. You just make sure you put them in the house on the west side at the very end. They need to be far away from the well-populated area. Back there is practically deserted, except for the older pack members, who rarely shift anymore." I said trying to end this call with my mother. I needed to find out what was going on with the sudden random rogue attacks.  So far I've heard it was a small number of rogues attacks maybe twenty-plus rogue wolves, From the intel we’ve received, they seem to be excellent fighters. Some alpha’s even think they were being trained, which was unusual. Rogues tend to be mindless bloodlust beast that thrive on the most basic elements of their wolves, which is to hunt and kill everything within sight. So regardless of my mother's confidence, I can't let our ego make it the reason we lose any of our pack members, for being overly cocky. We can't take these attacks for granted and be unprepared. "Fine, but you better be there by ten, that's when my girls will be performing. Ok I gotta go, they should be arriving soon. I need to get ready to meet them at the main gate to make sure Shadow doesn't scare them away. I hope he doesn't scared them half to death. I don't know why you didn't just put Montego on duty. He's much easier on the eyes then Shadow, who never smiles or show any kind of human trait. My mother said snapping me out of my thoughts. "Mother you know Montego has to be a part of the phone call and Shadow isn't that bad.”  I said, trying to hold in my laughter. Montego nearly spit out the water he was drinking, because he knew I purposely put Shadow on guard at the main gate. I was hoping the humans would turn tale and run away. Shadow is the scariest and deadliest wolf out here, after me and Montego of course. He was a wolf of very few words, and always sticks to the shadows. He has always been a loner, since his mate died many years ago. Some say he used to have a beautiful smile, and was very kind, passionate, and talkative. But I've never seen it so we just label that as a fairytale. "Ok mother, I’ll see you later tonight at the never before mating anniversary party." I said, hanging up quickly. I could hear my mother threatening to smack my nose for speaking to her like that. So, we're really letting human women in our pack for three weeks? Are you sure that that’s a good idea? " Montego asked sitting across from me at my desk. “Nope this is a horrible idea, but this is the only way to make sure my mother behaves until my mating ceremony. Summer was on top of the world thinking she finally got my mom's blessing. She has even started calling her mom. You should have seen my mother trying to not curse her out. I almost passed out holding in my laugh, when my mom was trying to say something nice  to Summer. So, if  these human women can keep mom on her best behavior, I’ll have to make sure nothing goes wrong. Which is why this call is so important but remind me to double patrol around the area where the humans will be staying. Tell them to stay out of sight in their wolf form for god sake.” I said already getting a headache, because of these humans, and they haven't even gotten here yet. The phone rings breaking my chain of thoughts, time to find out what the hell these rogues are up to.

Chapter 3 We Made It!

Ji'lahni: POV "So, what's taking this dude so long to come over here? I know damn well he see us, I'm ready to get outta this car, take a hot shower, and take a nap before this party starts." I said loud enough hoping the tall bodybuilder security guard heard me. "Oh my God, do you see him? That man is sexy as hell, I bet he got a girlfriend though." Shawna said from the backseat, leaning on the window, like she was about to lick the damn window, trying to catch his eye. "You can have him; I don't like light skinned dudes and he looks scary as hell. He look like he will hurt you in and out of the bedroom." Mina said shaking her head and shuddering at the image that obviously popped into her head. "How about let's get inside the gate before you start eye fucking the guard. You know what scratch that, definitely eye fuck him hard, until he sees you so we can get in there. I'm about to blow the damn horn, if he don’t hurry the hell up and come over here." I said getting pissed off. We’ve been sitting here a good fifteen minutes, well more like five, but again my body is telling me fifteen minutes. "Well let's trade seats before you blow this horn because I may be a big girl but he looks big enough to snap our necks at the same time." Mina said ready to defend that steering wheel from me. I laughed out loud. "What are you talking about? I think we could take him." I teased. Mina looking at me like I done lost my mind. " ssshhhiiitttt take what? A nap because we damn sure can't take that big ass dude. Do you see his arms? They’re damn near the size of our thighs. Nope this will be the one time you're on your own cuz, I can't even help you with that one." Mina said shaking her head still protecting the steering wheel from me. I pretended to reach for the horn and Mina was blocking me, like we're in a karate movie making Bruce Lee sound effects. "Hey that looks like momma Teri.” Shawna yelled excitedly as she hopped out the car. Me and Mina were left staring at her in shock, waiting for the big ass dude to tackle her ass to the ground.  It's like we were looking at it in slow motion. Hearing him shout when she ran pass him snapped us out of our stupor. Mina hopped out while I grabbed for Lynn's bag out the backseat. because I already knew we couldn't beat that dudes ass if he attacks. Shawna seemed unafraid when he grabs her from behind, easily lifting her away, before she reached Lateri's. Shawna squeals in delight clearly not recognizing that she was about to die. "Oh my God you're strong, if you wanted to carry me across the gate you could have ask. How about you can carry me all the way to our rooms if you want? I'm just saying, we have been riding for hours and my legs are kind of weak." Shawna said to the big killer beast smiling seductively. "He recognized the gesture, and immediately dropped her on her feet, backing away, his eyes widen in shock. He lifted his hands in the air, like he was afraid he was about to go to jail. "Oh, I get it, you don't do pretty big girls huh? Oh well your lost." Shawna said with no malice at all. We all know that we're not every man's jug of tea and we're ok with that. That helps us weed out the worthless motha fuckas that those pretty slim girls seem to attract. The ones that lie, cheat, have females calling, and fighting each other. We have never in our life fought nobody for a man, that makes absolutely no sense to us. Let that man choose you, and if he don't then fuckem. Shawna and Lateri immediately hugged, she pulled back and looked us over like a mother would her children, that she hasn't seen in a long time. She was hugging us one by one repeatedly until the big killer beast cleared his throat. We all looked at him, like who you rushing. He immediately took a step back and began to studder. He barely got out that, we needed to move our car to clear the gate. Just then Lateri went over to him poking him in the chest . "Don't you dare put your hands on my girls like that again. If you do, I’ll have my son on your ass so fast your head will hit the ground before your body.” Lateri yelled. "Yes Luna, I apologize it won't ever happen again." He said barely above a whisper, with his head bowed. Now that was odd; I mean I know she's the bosses mother, but he seems like he's truly afraid of the little old lady. "Hey, don't say that I rather liked you sweeping me off my feet, it made me feel all tingly." Shawna smiled at the big beast; The way he had his head bowed he no longer looked like a killer. His name patch said Shadow which he looked nothing like. He was literally no way near dark. Mina pulled the car in and Lateri got in the front so she could tell us where we will be staying for the next three weeks. "I'm so glad yall agreed to come here. I have missed yall something crazy. I can't wait to show yall around so yall can meet my people and see where I live. I know yall will love it here.” Lateri said, as we drove through the large community. It shocked me at how big this place actually was. We couldn't see anything from the main gate. There were rows of houses that were really big. They were country styled houses made with a cabin feel too them, from what I can see from outside. There were so many dogs that looked scary yet they clearly are well behaved. None of them ran beside the car like most dogs, they just kind of lifted their heads and looked at us as we passed them. What was weird was the way they looked at us; it seemed like they were very intelligent, I mean way more intelligent than any other dog we’ve ever seen. Hearing laughter from the front seat, I smiled. "What yall laughing about?” I asked, wanting to laugh to. " I told momma Teri about how we thought we were about to be murdered by a bear or a mountain lion. We were about to be the first black people to ever be killed by an animal in the woods." Mina said through fits of laughter. I had to laugh at that thought because I feel like it would be a first. We had finally made it to the house we would be staying in. When I tell you that this house was big, I'm not lying. I looks like it may have like eight bedrooms and an equal number of bathrooms. I figured it must be some sort of bed and breakfast type house. Looks like we wouldn't be the only ones here, which was a disappointment. I really don't like sharing my personal space with people I don't know. I don't trust easily so I would rather not put myself in situations where I feel like I have to always watch my back. Clearing my thoughts getting out of the car. I headed to the trunk to unload our suitcases, but two more beast popped up out of nowhere, and started grabbing out things. "Hey, you scared the shit outta me. Yall can't be sneaking up on black people like that, I coulda hurt yall just now." Mina said with a straight face, that had the two big men looking confused. They looked at each other like, is she serious? They looked back down at Mina to check to see if it was a joke. She clearly caught what they were trying to insinuate. "Oh, so because yall taller than me yall think I can't drop yall." Mina said cocking her head to the side challenging them to say it out loud. "Uh it's because you're so tiny, we don't think those small although beautiful hands could do much damage to us." The beast on the left said with a flirtatious smile. Clearly caught off guard and speechless. "Oh, I was just making sure." Mina finally replied when Shawna elbowed her in the side. She clearly has gotten over the Shadow dude at the gate, by the way she smiled at the guy on the right. He looked at her smiling, licking his lips like LL Cool J does. "It's so sweet that yall want to help us with our stuff." She said looking at the second guy. All of a sudden we hear a deep growl that damn near made me jump on Lateri’s back. I was looking around wondering how fast I could grab Lynn's bag, before we are eaten by whatever the hell that was. But we didn't see anything, all we saw was Shadow when we looked around. He walked to the guy who was smiling at Shawna and snatched our bags out of his hand. "The alpha wanted you to cover the gate for the rest of the night I'll take their bags in." He said in a deathly tone that immediately made me put killer back into his name, yup Shadow Killer it is. "Hey what are you doing? You don't get to cockblock, you acted like I was hot lava just a minute ago." Shawna said as she stepped up to Shadow Killer. He growled so low his chest vibrated. Me and Mina started looking around again on high alert; just in case we had to die today. We damn sure wasn’t letting this dude put his hands on Shawna. Before I could make a move Lateri was by Shawna in the blink of an eye, she was fast as hell for a sixty-year-old. I'm telling you somebody lying about their age. "Shadow did you forget what I just said at the gate? Control yourself and get the bags in the house.  What the hell is wrong with you today?" Lateri scolded him, he immediately turned to get the rest of our bags, but not before scowling at Shawna. Lateri grabbed her and Mina’s hands smiling with excitement like she just didn't scold the big killer dude that could tear her arms off without any effort. "Come on girls, let me show you where you will be staying. Yall will love this house I just know it." Lateri said as I fell in step with them as they passed by me. The men carrying all our bags in one trip, which was crazy. It took us six trips to get all our bags to the car. Walking into the house, our eyes widen in shock at how beautiful the inside of this house was. The color theme was black and gold with Crème colored walls. There were fancy wolf paintings and old wooden wolf statues posed in different stances. Crazy thing was, they looked like the dogs we passed on the way here. But I know those weren't wolves they're keeping as pets, that’s crazy talk. Following the women into the kitchen, which was huge with the same creamed colored walls, with black and gold counters, state of the art black and gold kitchen appliances. I was already in love with this kitchen. I told myself that I will be ordering those same appliances for our kitchen back home. I secretly love cooking. If I wasn't a wedding planner, I would definitely own a bakery or a small diner. I sometimes cater the weddings I coordinate when a couple tells me the type of food they want to serve. I would offer my services if I feel like I'm the best option, which they always agree once we do a taste testing. Me and my cousins have many talents that we’re naturally good at, thanks to our parents and grandparents. My grandmother could sew and cook better than most professionals. She used to make clothing for plus size women and sell them at the local market. She was very popular, because during those times a lot of stores didn't carry plus size clothing. If they did it was something ugly and not stylish at all. We all wore clothes that were made by our grandma, my momma, and our aunts, because we couldn't afford fancy clothes back then. I remember when hammer pants were in style my mom actually let us pick out our own fabric.  She would pair it with a plain black or white t-shirt. Once she made the hammer pants, she would use the fabric from the pants, sewed it around each arm, and then make a small square patch, she would make it look like shirt pockets. I remember everybody wanted my mom to make them some. I smiled remembering that me and Shawna thought we were the shit back then. "Hey Lahni come on, let me show you guys the bedrooms." Lateri said walking upstairs.  "Coming!" I yelled still thinking about the things I will be making in the upcoming weeks. I followed the women up the stairs where we would be sleeping. Upstairs was better than downstairs. The master bedroom was straight out of a five-star  luxury hotel. It had a big king-size bed in the center of the room, a walk-in closet, and a vanity in one corner of the room. In another corner there was a smaller room, that was separated by a divider, in it was a tv mounted on the wall and a long sofa. In the bathroom there was a big ass jacuzzi tub surrounded by mirrors and the lights could be dimmed when I wanted to relax. Yea this was all mine, because Mina and Shawna lost a card game, where the winner got the best bedroom. I could hear their sad little whining cries, knowing that they weren't going to be the one enjoying this beauty. "Hey, let's head on out to look at yall rooms, I don't need yall crying all over my carpet, please and thank you." I said pushing them out the door, as Lateri led them to the other rooms down the hall. Looking down the step, I see the guys were still holding the suitcases. "Um you can leave them there or bring them up. All the purple bags go in the master bedroom here, the pink bags belongs to Mina, Shawna's are the red ones, and the light blue ones are our friend Lynn's, she’ll be here tomorrow."  I said as I followed behind the girls. I could hear Shadow killer saying, “here take the pink bags and I'll get the red ones.""Why when it would be easier just to keep the ones I'm carrying." The first guy said, “I don’t know his name yet. I swear I heard another growl, then I hear the first guy say fine. I don’t know, but I don't think Shadow Killer's first reaction to Shawna was what we thought it was. I think he actually likes her; I'm go have to tell her once we're alone. Once back in the living room, the guys left quickly after putting our bags in our rooms. “Well, I'm gonna go, I know yall may want to rest before tonight's party, I can't wait to see yall perform. I also have to make sure everything is set up for tonight, so I’ll see you guys later at the party. I'll have someone here to escort you to our social hall at nine o’clock." Lateri said heading out the door but not before she hugs us two more times. "I swear I just love her life. She is always so happy and loving, you would think we are her kids." Mina said flopping down on the couch; me and Shawna followed suit. "OMG this sofa feels like I’m lying on a cloud. Shit, the way this feels I might be sleeping on this sofa for the next three weeks." Shawna said snuggling into the sofa. It did make you feel like you're getting a big old hug. But I think my bed would still be better. "Well, you can have that, I'm sleeping in my big ass king size bed. That thing looks like he wants me on top of him tonight. So, I'm giving him exactly what he wants. He don't even have to take me out, my king-size bed is getting him some booty and that pillow is getting him some head." I said, with my eyes closed imagining how that bed is going to make me feel. "Shit you not lying. I'm about to see if I can find something light to snack on in this kitchen, then I'm heading to shower, and sleep until it's time to leave." Mina said dragging herself off the sofa, heading to the kitchen. "Yea that's a plan right there." I said following her. In the kitchen the fridge was full of everything we could think of.  Even the cabinets had everything we needed, and some things we didn't need. Shawna found some sliced turkey, mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese. I found some fresh buttery bread, Mina grabbed the drinks, and chips. We stood at the island, making our sandwiches, before climbing onto bar style chairs. "Now they know they wrong for this. They act like they don't know everybody isn't six feet tall. We climbing in these seats like toddlers.” Mina said. We all Laughed because we have to deal with short people problems all the time. Mina has it the worse at five foot one, Shawna at five foot three, and me five foot three and a half, and yes that half inch is important. "Well at least the chairs are wide and has a back, so we will be comfortable after we climb up here. Our feet will be dangling and will fall to sleep if we stay up here too long. Is everybody over six feet here? I mean Lateri is six feet even. So, it may be a common thing here." I shrugged. We chatted about Shadow Killer, ate our sandwiches, and talked about our routine for tonight. We aren't usually nervous dancing in front of people, but it was weird to be asked to dance at a mating anniversary. We have no idea what a mating anniversary is, but we guessed that it was like a wedding anniversary. We hoped that we were right, I had picked a song that represents love and that is always a good thing. We only dance to urban music, which I honestly can't see any urban music listeners from what I have seen so far. We may end up with people looking at us like we're crazy, but oh well.  I choreographed the dance, she wanted something meaningful, so I choose dangerously in love, by Beyonce.  I decided to go out of the norm for us and do a kind of interpretive dance instead of the usual. I mean we were already out of our element already, so why not just stick to it. It wasn't a hard dance; we matched the words to our movement. I even looked up some sign language, to see if I could incorporate it into a dance move. The end result got a thumbs up from the women in our classes. They even said they wanted me to start doing more choreography like that. I promised I would think about it, keyword think. Finishing out sandwiches, we crawled up to our rooms. I showered and didn't even put anything on just dried my body, sprayed my favorite oil mist. It smelled like a mixture of watermelon and cotton candy. I hated flowery smells; it always made me sneeze. I'm allergic to outside, not really outside, but damn near everything out there. I take weekly shots, if I don't, I would be swollen, itching, eyes watering, sneezing, and coughing. It would feel like I had the flu. It’s not like some people who are allergic to peanut better and their throats close within minutes. For me it would take me being outside for at least a few hours, before I start the sneezing, coughing, eyes watering, and breathing problems. It always goes away after I take some medication . But more than three hours with no form of medication or my EpiPen, I would need a hospital asap. I snuggled under my covers after setting the alarm on my phone. I could hear all kinds of howls, as I drifted into dreamland. Yea it wasn't weird at all hearing howling outside the windows. I thought as I drifted off to sleep.

Chapter 4 What's that smell?

Makahi: POV "So we need to increase our men at the borders, send two scouts to do recon in the area Alpha Terrain told us about, and we’ll be on a soft lock down for now. All women and children will have one hour a day outside, with at least two of our men monitoring them. Make sure they stay away from the wooded areas for now." I reviewed the new safety guidelines to Montego as we were planning and scheduling how to best handle these rogue wolves. It was obvious that they had banded together to attack several packs. The other alphas sounded pissed and unsettled by how organized their attacks were. They seem to have a leader controlling them. So, I wasn’t going to take this new threat lightly. A brief knock on the door interrupted us for a moment, “Enter." I said still looking at the map on my desk trying to figure out the best position to put our men. We need them to cover the entire pack land and borders. Hunter and Shadow enters my office and waited for me to acknowledge them. Looking up at them, Shadow looks a little off, but Hunter was all smiles. "Have they arrived yet?"  I asked no one in particular. "Yes, they arrived a little while ago. Luna took them to the last house out west like you instructed. We deposited their things and left Luna with them." Hunter said still smiling. Raising my brow curious as to what he found amusing. "Care to share what has you in a good mood." I asked Hunter. "Well alpha the human women our Luna invited seems...... nice." He said trying to search for the right words. I hear Shadow give a low growl at Hunter’s description of the human women. I glanced at him a little surprised at his response. “Shadow is there a problem." I asked trying to gauge his reaction. Shadow stepped forward to answer my question. But I didn’t hear a word he said because I caught the most delicious scent that I have ever smelt. I couldn’t make out what the scent was, but my wolf immediately tried to push forward, trying to get closer to that smell. Which I refused because I wasn’t about to sniff Shadow. "Alpha is something wrong? Did you hear what I said?" Shadow asked. I immediately snapped back into alpha mode again. "No, say again." I answered. Shadow eyed me strangely but repeated himself. "I said I think it was a bad idea, allowing the human women to stay here. Maybe you can speak to our Luna to see if she will reconsider. They are mouthy and tiny, I'm afraid some of our females will hurt them." Shadow said in a rush, he looked nervous and a bit pale, which was odd to say the least. Hunter stepped forward as well. I smelt something sweet, but not like what I smelt on Shadow. I don't know why my wolf is clawing at me trying to get closer to wherever that smell was coming from. "Will you chill the hell out Maka." I said to my wolf. He growled and responded. "OUT NOW!"  "You think I'm going to let you out so you can sniff Shadow? Are you nuts? Just let me find out what's going on with these humans, and I promise you we will find out where that smell is coming from." I said as a compromise.  “Find!” Maka replied and then settled down. I could still feel him on the surface ready to come out. Hunter and Shadow were arguing about the human women, I can tell they are already a problem. "ENOUGH!" I growled and both men immediately stopped their debate. Looking at Hunter, I nodded for him to speak. "Alpha, I think Shadow is overreacting, he's angry because our Luna had to scold him for growling at one of the women." Hunter said smirking at Shadow. "WHAT THE Hell SHADOW? I TOLD YOU NO WOLF STUFF IN FRONT OF THE HUMAN WOMEN. ARE YOU TRYING TO EXPOSE THIS ENTIRE PACK TO THE WORLD?" I yelled using my alpha aura. Shadow immediately bared his neck to me in submission. "No alpha, I don't know what happen, the little one with the long hair and round cheeks just rubs me the wrong way. I don't know why." Shadow said helplessly. He looked completely confused as hell. I let go of my alpha aura and he immediately stood at attention. I frowned as I thought about it, I looked at Shadow when I remembered. "Shadow weren't you supposed to be at the front entrance tonight?"  I asked and his face immediately showed his guilt. Hunter started laughing. I looked at him, waiting for the joke. "Well alpha, me and Blaze were helping the humans with their luggage. Blaze was getting the suitcases out when one of them walked up to him smiling, thanking him for his help. Shadow came outta now where and said that you wanted him to man the front gates tonight." Hunter finished with a smirk. I Looked at Shadow who was standing stock still not looking at Hunter. "Explain?" I asked Shadow, his face held guilt. I was starting to think that maybe it was a bad idea to bring them here; they have my best warriors all messed up after just one encounter.  "I was just trying to keep their exposure to our warriors at a minimum. I don't want them to have to deal with them unnecessarily." Shadow replied. Which was a good excuse, it was complete bullshit, but I wouldn't drag him through the coal for it. He already looked like he's been in a wolf fight and lost. Besides, I needed to ask him about the wolf that had that delicious smell. "Hunter you're dismissed, Shadow stay behind for a second, I have some questions for you." I said sitting back in my chair. I gestured for Shadow to have a seat next to Montego. I just notice that he hasn’t spoken at all during the entire debriefing. "Shadow besides the humans, who else did you come in contact with? Any other female wolves from another pack? I asked, trying to make it seem like a general question. "Uh, only the caters your mother hired from the Mombasa pack. Why do you ask? " He asked, a little confused by the question. "I just wanted to make sure I know all the females that may come in contact with the human women tonight. You said you don't think that they will get along with our females, so we need to make sure that we control the situation." I said absent-mindedly, he nodded accepting my excuse, even though that was complete bullshit. Looking at Montego the smirk on his face said that he saw through my excuse, because he looked at me with a raised brow. "You may go and get ready for my mother's mating anniversary. When you get there, please let her know I will be there as soon as I'm done here." I said looking back down at my map. Once Shadow left, I could still feel Montego’s eyes on me waiting for me to explain. When he saw that I wasn't offering an explanation, he came out and asked. “You want to tell me what the hell that was about?" he asked, eyeing me. "I don't fucking know, but when I find out I'll fill you in. I don't think I'm going to like where this is going already." I said, taking a deep breath trying to focus on this damn map and not the lingering smell of WATERMELON! That's what I smelt, with something else mixed in, but definitely watermelon. Now that I was able to solve that small piece of the puzzle, Maka calmed down enough for me to finish planning our new security guard schedule. Ji’lahni: POV  nine o’clock We had just arrived at the social hall, even though we were on time, it looked like people had been there for a while. The place was decorated beautifully in black and gold, which I’m starting to think is their community colors. The tables had beautiful clear vases, with black marbles, and a gold candle, as center pieces, giving it a romantic vibe. Everyone was dressed like they were on the red carpet. Lateri told us it was formal, so we had to buy dresses for this event. I’m glad we did, because we had nothing that would live up to what we were seeing. We ended up having dresses custom-made because we just couldn’t find something that we liked. Nothing complimented our body type, which is a problem that plus size women have to deal with, besides having limited options. For example, I have a stomach, but my waist was snatched, I have hips and ass for days. My boobs were a C cup, so I love dresses that insinuate my boobs, to distract from my stomach. I loved showing off my bleeding-heart tattoo, wrapped in a chain with a lock between my breast. I also had the key tattooed somewhere else on my body, and if you ever get close enough to find it, that means you’re lucky enough to have my heart. Tonight, I chose a lilac-colored halter top dress with a deep V that stopped right above my stomach. It was a long form fitting dress with two deep slits on both sides. I don’t mind showing a little leg as long as the dress covered the lumps and cellulite on my inner thighs. The middle was wide enough that you would only see the splits on both sides when I walked. To top it off, I had a short jacket to cover my back fat. As I said I know how to make shit work for me. The color went perfectly with my deep chocolate skin, It made my deep blue eyes sparkle. Me and my cousins all had deep blue eyes, which we got from our granny. We got our dark chocolate complexion from our papa. As for my hair I always keep the sides cut very low, with a design on the side and the top is always in braids. The entire dress had rhinestone trimming that shined whenever the lights hit it. Now Shawna always had the perfect fat girl shape, where everything was in the right places. She chose a form fitted blood red sleeveless dress with a sweetheart neckline. Her dress was trimmed with diamond rhinestones too, but she had a deep side split. Her dress exposed her back tattoo of angel wings, that expand the length of her shoulders. Sometimes when she moves a certain way, it looked like the wings move. Then there is Mina, she was smaller than us, but she was also shorter. She had a stomach as well but was smaller everywhere else. She wore a royal blue, long sleeve dress, that drape down the front, that exposed her nice boobs, yet hid her stomach just right.  The dress was backless, which showed off her spine tattoo, of a flying dragon. The Dragon looked like it was flying up her spine; all and all, we looked damn good. The best part was the dresses doubled as our dance outfits. The bottom had secret Velcro that allowed us to remove the bottom of the dresses to expose a flowy skirt, which moved in tune with our bodies. We did it this way because we didn’t want to have to go through the whole dress change process. We would remove our shoes and replace them with soft dance shoes that matched our dresses. As we’re walking into the entrance, everyone seemed to stop talking just to stare at us, making it real weird. Shit we looking at each other like damn, do we have something on our faces. I mean I get we were out of towners, but to stare so hard was weird as hell. “What the hell are they staring at? Are we supposed to be dancing now?” Mina asked in a whisper. She smiled nervously at everyone. “The hell if I know. Shit it looks like we’re the only black people in here, that may be why. All I know is, I’m about to just sit my ass down at the closest table, I don’t care whose table it is.” I whispered back walking slowly to the nearest table. From the front of the room, we spot Lateri running toward us in a white ballgown, that looked kind of like dresses queens wore in the eighteen hundreds. I know that dress is heavy as hell, but she running like it was light as a feather. The poor girls who were trying to make sure her train stayed straight were trying to keep up. “There is my chocolate drops, yall look so beautiful, you’re gonna make an old lady cry. I love those dresses; they look perfect, turn around and let me see.”  Lateri said beaming as we obeyed. We were blushing because everyone was still staring, but Lateri acted like we were the only ones in the room. “Just beautiful now come on, dinner is about to be served.  I put you girls at the front with me, my mate, our son, and his best friend whenever they get here.” Lateri said as she grabbed our hands and dragged us between the tables. People were staring with their mouths hanging open. I hear a now familiar growl and turned to see none other than Shadow killer staring holes into Shawna’s head as we passed by him. When we reached our table, Lateri reintroduced us to her mate Antoni Crystal. He was supposed to be sixty-seven years old, but he damn sure will have to prove he’s not forty. We only saw him twice while they visited South Carolina, but he was always so nice and friendly. He clearly loved Lateri because he was always touching her or looking at her lovingly. “Hi young ladies, it’s nice to see you again. Lateri was absolutely right, you girls look beautiful tonight.” He said getting up pulling our chairs out so we could sit. He was such a gentleman. "Thank you.” We all said at the same time, blushing like little girls do when their fathers tell them they’re beautiful. Once seated everyone seemed to go back to their conversations. “I hope you girls like the food that I picked. I wanted to have some of your southern food added to the menu, to make sure we had things you liked.” she said proudly. “Awe, momma Teri you didn’t have to do that, we would love to try some of your traditional foods. We don't want people to think you went out of your way to accommodate us.” I said shyly. “Oh, hush up sweetie. I don’t care what anyone thinks, if they have a problem with the food they could leave right now.” Lateri said loud enough, that I’m sure twelve of the twenty-four tables heard her. We tried to disappear at that moment, but it didn’t work. So, we focused on our nice silverware until the moment passed. “I don’t know where the hell Kahi is. I swear Antoni if he misses out anniversary dinner, I will wring his neck.” Lateri said angerly. “Now you know he will be here when he can. He had a really important meeting that couldn’t be postponed. Please understand honey, don’t be too hard on him if he misses it. You know he would be here if he could.” Antoni said, pulling Lateri in to console her as she silently agreed. “Besides you have your girls here with us to celebrate, that’s something right.” He added. “You’re right honey, I’m as happy as a clam, because you girls are here.” She smiled just as the servers came to our table, placing plates in front of us. She wasn’t playing when she said she picked foods she thought we would like. That plate had baked chicken, baked Macaroni, and cheese, and what looked to be cabbage. It smelled and looked delicious, and it tasted great too, she really went all out. We wanted to eat everything on that plate. We couldn’t eat like we wanted, because we had to perform in thirty minutes, but I damn sure hope they did carryout plates. I wouldn’t dare ask because I do know how to act around rich folks. “Momma Teri the food was amazing.” Mina said after dinner was removed. “I’m so glad you liked it. We have a few minutes before your performance. I wanted to introduce you to some of the other ladies here.” Teri smiled, she got up and grabbed our hands, dragging us around each table, introducing us to everyone, literally calling us her adopted daughters. For the most part everyone was civil. There was some younger and older women who gave us nasty looks, when Lateri wasn’t looking. We just gave them our winning smile because we could care less what they thought of us. Lateri got called away while introducing us to a table filled with women that looked around our age. They all were athletic females, they looked like they worked out in their sleep. When Lateri was out of ear shot one of them decided she had something to say to us. “Damn yall not ashamed dressing like little fat sluts. Nobody wants to see all that fat hanging out.” She sneered at us, as the other girls laughed. We looked at each other and laughed too shit. “What are yall laughing for I was talking about yall.” The same bitch spoke again. “We’re laughing because you really think calling us fat sluts, was going to somehow shame or humiliate us, in front of your little friends. Uuuummmm sweetie, we don’t care about you or your friends enough to care about what yall think about us. You tried it though, how old are you five?” I asked sarcastically, still laughing. “Cuz, I feel like she sat back here this entire time worried about three chick’s, she doesn’t know. Have you been sitting here thinking about us this whole time? When we didn’t even know you existed, until a few seconds ago, and you will be forgotten in three, two. Were we just talking to some jealous hating ass bitches, cuz?”  Mina asked, looking at me. “Shit I thought so, but I real life can’t even remember. They must have been bitches; we could give two shits about. We can’t even remember what they looked like.” I said and we started laughing all over again, as we walked away from the table before we have to show our asses in here. We were not trying to ruin Lateri’s anniversary dinner. Lateri found us standing in the back of the room minutes later. “What are yall doing way back here? Was someone rude to you?” She asked turning around, looking at the table where she  left us. The girls were trying their best to be invisible. Before she could walk off and to hand them their asses, I grabbed her. “no one said anything to us. We just decided to walk to the back to wait for you because it’s almost time for us to perform.” I said, praying that she believed me. She eyed us for a few seconds trying to use Jedi mind trick on us or something. She decided to believe us, then took us backstage to get ready to perform. I suddenly became super nervous; I pray to God I don’t mess up. Oh well too late to turn back now, Let’s do it.

Chapter 5 We're Not Superheroes!

Makahi POV: “I can’t find her, are you sure that we checked everyone?” I asked Montego, still looking around as the catering people bustled around cleaning and preparing to leave. My wolf was clawing at me wanting to get out. He thought he could find that delicious watermelon smell faster than me. I could barely keep my focus during my meeting, trying to finalize our new guard schedule earlier. Once we were done, I came straight to the kitchen trying to find the wolf that smelled so damn good. I could literally taste it on my tongue. I still don’t know what will happen once I find her anyway. I’m not really trying to think about what it means that my wolf wants to find her so bad. “Yes, we have checked every single person that catered the dinner earlier. Your mother is going to kill you for missing her anniversary dinner. I really wanted to sample the food she picked for the human women, it smelled so good, and from the empty plates I can tell it tasted good too. I missed it, so now I have to pop a frozen pizza in the oven when I get home.” Montego said sadly. I hardly cared at the moment, my mother would more than likely have leftovers for us if we had the courage to face her; but since we missed the dinner, I for one am not going to see my mother, until it is absolutely unavoidable. Yes, I’m the alpha who still fears his mother. My phone ringing pulled me from my futile search. Looking at the phone, Summer’s face popped up on my screen. I groaned not really wanting to deal with her at the moment. I felt instant guilt at the thought but didn’t want to stop my search. Sighing, I gave up, and headed for the exit with Montego smiling, finally happy that he no longer had to help search for the missing she wolf. Putting the phone to my ear, “Hey baby, what’s going on?” I asked absent-mindedly. “Hey baby, I was calling to see how your mother’s dinner went? Was she really mad that I couldn’t make it? I just couldn’t make it in time because the designer that’s making my dress had to make last minute adjustments. Please tell me she’s not mad at me? We just started getting along and I don’t want to ruining it.” Summer whined into the phone. She has been really obsessed about the mating ceremony. I still don’t understand why we can’t do it like it has always been done thousands of years ago, I love her and want to make her happy. “I don’t know how it went because I wasn’t there. I had to lay out a new pack guard schedule, because of the recent rogue wolf attacks. She shouldn’t be upset at all; she has her human women to occupy her. You really need to start Luna training as soon as you get back. You only have three weeks left before the mating ceremony, when you become Luna you need to be ready to take on the role babe.” I said, trying to make sure she understood what’s expected of her after the mating ceremony. She already knows that which is why I don’t understand why she isn’t taking it seriously. "I know, I know I swear I will start when I get back. I should be back early afternoon tomorrow. So, the human women actually came I was hoping they'd drop out. I guess I’ll see how they plan to organize our mating ceremony. Although, I don’t like the idea of human women being in our pack. I also don’t want to upset your mother when we are just making progress in our mother daughter relationship. Maybe the humans will be so bad at their job that miss Lateri will fire and kick them out. If that happens then Keonna could do it, she actually wants to organize the ceremony. I feel she would be better because she’s a wolf and knows more about our ways then those filthy humans.” Summer sneered in disgust. “I wouldn’t hold my breath on that one, because my mother loves those human women, she calls them her chocolate drops. So just be civil ,don’t start any drama, or trouble.  You and mother will get closer if she sees you being nice to her human friends.” I said hoping she will take my advice. “Fine, you’re right, I’ll be super sweet to her little human pets. When I get back maybe you and I could grab lunch at your place, maybe you can eat something else, I missed you like crazy baby.” she said seductively. For the first time in our relationship, I didn’t want to have sex with Summer. She was great in bed and did things with her mouth that had you in a haze for days afterwards. But now me and my wolf seemed uninterested in having sex with her. Shaking my head, what the hell is wrong with you? This is our future mate; I have to put a stop to this she-wolf search. I have rogue wolves and a mating ceremony I need to focus on, and apparently it was all in my head because I didn’t find her. “It’s a date I can’t wait to see you tomorrow ,yall girls drive safely.” I said wanting to end the call. “Ok baby it’s a date I’ll see you tomorrow I love you.” Summer responded. I hit the end button without responding back, no big deal that I couldn’t get my mouth to say it back. I sighed deep in thought, with Montego still walking beside me back to my office. It was twelve o’clock in the morning, we had an early pack meeting to inform our warriors of the new guard schedule, also tell them what we have found out about these attacks. “So, we’re done with the search of the missing mysterious she-wolf that has you chasing your tail?” Montego asked walking up beside me. “Yea for now, we have far more important things to do like, making sure our pack is safe and avoiding my mother, so she doesn’t rip out my spine and make you eat it.” I said shuddering at the thought of facing my mother’s wrath, because we missed her anniversary dinner. “Hey, I have nothing to do with that you’re the alpha,  you ordered me to help you.” Montego said, turning pale at the thought of dealing with my mother. “Oh, so you’re willing to abandon your alpha that you have sworn to protect?” I asked. “You damn right, especially when it comes to our Luna, nobody ever wants to be on Miss Lateri’s bad side. did you see how Shadow was after a run in with your mother? Even your dad knows better.” Montego said, making a left turn going towards his home. “Coward! I yelled, laughing as he went towards his home. “I’ll be that, see you at six am sharp.” He yelled as he disappeared down the street. Sighing, now I’m left with my thoughts that immediately goes back to the mystery she-wolf with the smell that I can’t get out of my nose. It’s like I can still smell a little wisp of it everywhere. I have to get rid of these feelings, maybe when Summer returns everything will go back to normal. With that thought in mind, I headed to my office to grab the map of our community before heading to my room next to my office. I’ll go over the map once more before, I try to get some shut-eye and clear my head of the mystery she-wolf and her enticing smell. Time to get back to business. Ji’lahni: POV The alarm was blaring at me with an attitude. I groaned, throwing my pillow at it wanting it to stop. I was so tired from last night’s performance. It was a hit that had every female teary-eyed. The speech I gave before the performance really helped. I was super nervous up on that stage because as I said not everyone was welcoming. So that put a lot of pressure on us to make sure we gave one hundred and ten percent.  So, with a deep breath I walked on stage and stood in front of Momma Lateri. “First I would like to thank Miss Lateri for inviting me and my cousins to this wonderful event. Our performance is dedicated to you, because during the short time knowing you, you have been nothing but kind and loving. When you speak of the people in your community we could literally feel how much you love them.  I know that you’re willing to die for each and every person in your community. I can tell how much you cherish them individually and by the looks of it, you know every single person’s name including the staff. That shows just the type of person you are, and the love we see you and your mate has is something I one day wish to have with my future husband. So, with that said listen to the words of this song and allow us to express those words through dance.” As soon as I finished my speech Dangerously in love began to play. By the time we finished there wasn’t a dry eye in that place. Miss Lateri loved it so much she asked us if we could do it again some other night before we left. Afterwards we stayed for a little while longer but left because although we took a nap earlier, we were still exhausted from the trip and the performance. We got home and we crawled in bed. Peaking at the time it said ten am miss Lateri said she would be here at eleven a.m. to give us an official tour of the community. We had a meeting set up at five p.m. for the mating ceremony and Lynn said she won’t be able to make it for another couple of days, but she said we will be training today via zoom at two so we needed to get up. I rolled out of bed and headed for the kitchen to make some breakfast. I decided on something super easy and fast. I grabbed eggs bacon milk bread cinnamon for some French toast eggs and bacon. Once I had everything made I yelled upstairs for the girls to come down for breakfast. They came downstairs with their eyes closed. None of us were morning people, I mean we would sleep till noon if you let us. Hence why we started our own businesses. “What time is it five a.m. why are we up it should be against the law to be up this early.”  Shawna groaned  climbing into our highchair which she was struggling trying to do with her eyes closed.  “Girl it’s after ten and we need to be ready by eleven so momma Teri won’t have to wait on us.  I said, putting our plates on the island and started eating. “Ok, I’m kinda looking forward to seeing this place, did you see that damn near every man here is built like a sex God. Some look dangerous and some look playful in a devilish kind of way, I was definitely catching some, I want you vibes last night. So, I can’t wait to see how these men look in the daylight.” Mina said popping the last piece of French toast in her mouth. Getting up we made quick work of cleaning the kitchen then headed up stairs to have a quick shower. We were dressed in our workout clothes, which was a set of long yoga pants with a matching long sleeve top, and yes we had them in bold bright colors. You already know mine was black and purple, Shawna’s was black and green, and Mina was black and pink. We didn’t need a jacket; it was early April and our tops were long sleeves so we were good. We grabbed our waist trainer vests and headed downstairs just as the doorbell rang. “Oh, good my girls are ready. I see Lynn is making yall train today even when she isn’t here. Come on, we have a lot to see. Everyone is still buzzing and talking about the performance last time. I told you, yall had nothing to worry about” Lateri said as she approached a little golf cart that had three row seating. I spotted Shadow killer the moment we saw the cart, he wasn’t looking happy at all, but Shawna was all smiles. I had told her I think his initial reaction wasn’t rejection.  So now she was about to test that theory. She loves the chase, she said it was going to be fun, because she has a big man like that rattled. She hopped right in the front seat next to him, making sure she was real close to him. You could tell he wanted to bolt by the way his knuckles were turning white with how tight he was holding the steering wheel. Shawna giggled “Hey my big teddy bear, I’m glad you’re the one driving us around today. I feel so safe, protected, and what not. Why didn’t you come say hello last night.?” Shawna asked, looking up at him, inching even closer to him if that was even possible. Poor Shadow killer was barely able to get out that he was on guard and couldn’t socialize with the guest. Shawna shrugged and approved his excuse. “Well, I guess you will have to make it up to me today during our tour of the grounds.” She wrapped her arms around his big arms and snuggled in close. That man was about to break the steering wheel, which would mean we would have to walk, and I’m not trying to do that right now. “Shawna please stop teasing Shadow killer so we can start the tour.” I said trying to give that man a break. We all laughed, when Shadow took a deep breath, when Shawna let go of his arms and scooted away from him. I could have sworn I saw Shadow eyes glow for a split second when Shawna stopped touching him. It was like he was angry she let his arm go. That must have been the sun in his eyes because glowing eyes weren’t possible. Lateri showed us around the entire community stopping at various places to introduce us to everyone who we didn’t see last night. The community was actually like a small town in the middle of nowhere. They had schools, small boutiques,  a hair salon, a small diner, and a grocery store. Walking by their little kindergarten school there were kids running and playing and even little baby wolves. I found out they weren’t dogs but actually wolves. I felt kind of dumb because wolf Reserve was literally in the name. But all the wolves were tamed and not dangerous which was why none of them were on a leash. Lateri said. But I wasn’t too sure about that, and I wasn’t going to test that theory either. The big wolves didn’t even have to worry about me even looking at them hard. I already planned to not be anywhere near where they keep them. Nope I’m good. Seeing a baby wolf playing with the kids, jumping around trying to catch the kids, who had the little ball, he look sssssoooooo cute. We stop so Lateri could introduce us to the teacher because she wanted to meet us to tell us how great our performance was. “Hey Fiona, these are my babies Ji’lahni, Shawna, and Mina.” Lateri said like a proud parent. The teacher stepped up and shook each of our hands. “It’s so nice to finally meet you; our Luna talks about you girls all the time. She told us how talented and beautiful you were, and I must say she was right.” Fiona said just as a little black ball of fur came barreling towards us with his little tongue hanging out, he stopped right in front of me with his paws on my leg like he wanted me to pick him up and I oblige allergies be damn. “Razor!! Stopped that! Get off the nice lady’s leg!” the teacher said in a stern voice. “Aaawwweeee that’s Ok, he’s so cute OMG! Do you see him? He’s so tiny and cute.” I said as the little pup tried to climb all over me trying to lick me everywhere. I wasn’t about to let him lick my face cause we don’t play that. Mina and Shawna gushed over him, each trying to hold him like a baby, and he was enjoying our soft cuddly boobs. He was just laying between my boobs with his tongue out like he was about to fall asleep as we chatted it up with the teacher. We were about to leave after setting up a date to put some food on the grill later today at momma Terri’s house. The teacher reached for little Razor, but he wasn’t having it he started whining and using his nails to snag my top looking at me with his sad little eyes. “Hey Fiona, how about I just bring him back after I drop the girls off if he promised to be a good boy.” Lateri said, giving him the he better behave look. He bark in agreement then buried himself in the crock of my arm and snuggled there. “Ok Luna that is fine, I’ll be here waiting for him, Ms. Summer said she won’t be back until later today anyway.”  Fiona said waving bye to us as she rustled the kids back inside the school. “So, this is your almost daughter N laws pup.” I asked curiously. Rolling her eyes “No that is her cousins pup she just kept him after her cousin passed away a few months back she was such a sweet girl.” Lateri said sadly and little Razor whimpered a little like he knew we were talking about his momma. Which was impossible right? “Oh, my I’m so sorry for your loss.” I responded while Mina and Shawna both gave her side hugs. I looked down at the little pup and felt sorry for him, he was so tiny and cute. "Hey, you know what me and you are the same. I lost my momma to a while ago, so I completely understand how you feel buddy. I miss my mommy too.” I whispered to him holding back my tears that threaten to fall every time I think about my parents. I don’t dare cry because I was the oldest and had to be strong for my cousins. If I fall apart, they would too, and you don’t want to see three big girls ugly crying, because that is not cute. We rode back to the house to get ready for our zoom with Lynn for our two-hour torcher fest. Once we got there Lateri had the back yard padded so we could train, and a big projector screen set up for the zoom call, up and ready to go. I swear she is trying to spoil us, so we don’t want to leave in three weeks. We grabbed Lynn’s bag of goodies but took the guns out because we didn’t want to do target practice with the pup around. Lateri made him stay on the patio behind the gate. He whined a little bit when I walked to the padded area, but settled down when he realized he could see me when he stuck his head between the board of the gate. I hope he doesn’t get his head stuck. I smiled to myself. “Awe, look at him you might not be able to get rid of him. You will have to take six allergy shots a day if you try to keep him. He real life not trying to let you out of his sight, what have you done to that little puppy?” Shawna asked laughing. “I know what she did to get him hooked, he done laid on them soft boobs you got. You know men love some soft boobs and he a boy, so he’s hooked, he’s in love now.” Mina said laughing as she looked at little Raz. Yes, we gave him a nickname it sounded cooler. “Hhhheeeeyyyy bitches I miss yall. Yall ready for this training? We bout to put this work in, yall done missed almost two days, so we got some work to do.” Lynn said as soon as we logged in to our zoom meeting. “Hey boo, we miss you but not this damn training though. You need to hurry up and bring your ass on, you have to start building the arches, make sure everything is ordered, and delivered.” Mina said while we stretched. “Yes, I know, I promise I will be there by Wednesday at the latest. But for now, let’s get started.” Lynn said as she started with our stances, arm motions, kicks, balances, strength, flexibility, and endurance. We also worked on sweeping defense, offense, sweeping front, and back kicks. She had the nerve to try and have us do spinning kicks too. Yea I’m not doing that. I don’t know who she think we are but doing that wouldn’t end well for no one. So, once we reminded her on who she was dealing with. She decided for us to start our roll and strike lessons. Front rolls were first which after we got the hands right it was pretty easy to roll forward and strike front or back. Now that back roll was a disaster. She had to end the call before we did our crossbow and  throwing knives target practice. We saw a little small open area, that had trees close enough for us to do our target practice. I walked to the gate, when little Raz started barking. “Hey little one we’re just going to that wooded areas right over there. We will be right back ok? If miss Lateri comes looking fir us, just show her where we went ok?” I asked Raz, knowing damn well he didn’t understand a word I just said. I bet he was like I know she know I can’t understand her right. I had to jog to catch up with the girls, as we headed for the trees. It was a little farther then we thought, we couldn’t see the house, but we could see far enough to know we weren’t lost. Hanging up our target paper, we decided to do crossbow target practice first. We did defense, spin, pull and shoot. I was a beast with a crossbow, my aim was superb. What you thought big girls can’t use a crossbow to beat ass, we sure can I loved my crossbow. We did the front roll and shoot, which is a struggle for me because it was messing with my aim. Although I hit the target in the colored area, I’m a Virgo and a perfectionist. I can’t stand it when something I feel like I should be able to do doesn’t work out, it drives me nuts. After about fifteen rounds, the girls forced me to let it go. So, we could practice using our throwing knives. Walking over to our gear we strapped our knives to each thigh, each arm, and each wrist, then loaded our utility belts. I told you Lynn is a fat ninja or an assassin, sometimes it feels like she’s training us for something. Now we’re damn good during training, but our scary asses would be the first to die in real life. You can’t change us on the inside, we could only pray that we wouldn’t freeze and die. We’re laughing and cutting up as usual then we hear a loud ass growl, hell no, that sounded like a roar. That shit vibrated through the ground. We immediately stopped laughing. “What the hell was that?” Mina asked. Looking around not seeing anything. “I don’t know, and I’m not going to fuck around and find out either. So how about we grab Lynn’s bag, leave them targets on them trees, and get the hell to the damn house.” I said, trying to pack Lynn’s bag fast. The roars and growls were getting louder and louder. We could hear something that sounded like animals were fighting nearby. “Shit! Did the wolves get loose or something? Because they don’t sound like their tamed at all right now. I thought Lateri said they were harmless.” Shawna said shaking like a leaf and dropping shit out the bags that we were putting in it. “Listen, I didn’t believe that bullshit when she said it. They’re animals, they may look tame, but they’re killers too, now let’s get the hell outta these damn woods.” I said standing up making a beeline for the house. I could hear paws stomping the ground, they were too damn close to us, my heart is about to beat out my damn chest. We started to see the house come into view, when all of a sudden I see. "Is that little Raz running towards us barking like crazy?” Mina said before I finished the thought. “Oh shit, that’s a fucking wolf coming from the right, blocking our straight shot to the damn house.” Shawna yelled “Ooohhh shit, we’re about to die. I told yall we was gonna die in these woods. Oh shit! It’s two more coming from the fucking left side too.” Mina cried … “Oh my God, oh my God, were about to die lord Jesus. Where is Shadow killer when you need him.” I said, about to break down just like Mina and Shawna were. Just then Little Raz lost his damn lil wolf mind and made a beeline straight for the big nasty looking brown wolf. His fur was matted, and he had a crazed feral look in his eyes. He didn’t look anything like the ones we’ve been seeing on this Reserve so far. The wolf turned his head towards Raz who was heading his way. He cocked his head as if to ask, really son? You real life think you can protect these women from me? It looked like he almost smiled evilly. I could tell he was about to have an appetizer, before he had us as a buffet for him and his friends. Shit! Lynn if I die today, I’m going to be real fucking mad at you for torturing us for years, just for us to die in a wolf fight. I Thought to myself. “Raz, get your ass back to the house god damnit! I swear if you get eaten, I’m gonna spank your little wolf ass!” I yelled and started running toward Raz. I hear Mina and Shawna yelling at me, calling me all kinds of crazy bitches. I swear big people run in slow motion in real life. I knew I wouldn’t be able to reach Raz before the wolf, so I pulled my crossbow out and prayed that I didn’t miss. I knew Mina and Shawna would follow suit and would try to take down the other two wolves. Yea we about to die for sure because we’re not fucking superheroes.
