The digital glow of your laptop screen cast a pallid light across your face, illuminating the lines of exhaustion etched beneath your eyes. A chill, entirely unrelated to the cool night air seeping through your window, snaked up your spine. You glanced around your darkened room, the shadows seeming to deepen in the corners. Nothing.
