In Love With A Sociopath

In Love With A Sociopath
Transferring to a new high school for your senior year is hell, especially when you're instantly captivated by the mysterious and impossibly attractive Kevin. As a project forces you together, an undeniable chemistry ignites, leading to a passionate, whirlwind romance. But when a psychology class reveals the chilling traits of a sociopath, Mary begins to recognize disturbing patterns in Kevin. Is her intense love blinding her to a dangerous truth, or is she falling for a man who can't truly love her back?

The car door slammed shut with a frustrated thud, echoing Mary's mood. Her senior year, and she was starting all over again at a brand-new school. Gladstone High loomed, a mansion compared to her old, cozy school, its pristine facade mocking her internal turmoil.

Inside, the principal’s unnervingly wide smile and quick handshake offered little comfort, yet Mary appreciated the lack of awkward small talk. Clutching her schedule – English, Physics, Ceramics, Lunch, AP Calculus, AP Psychology, Study Hall – she navigated the unfamiliar hallways, a slip of paper with her locker combination clutched in her other hand.

Her locker opened with an unusual ease, a fleeting moment of good luck before she found herself hopelessly lost. Fifteen minutes late to English, she stumbled into the classroom, every eye in the room instantly fixed on her.

“Sorry, I got lost,” she mumbled, heat rising to her cheeks.

Mrs. Dean, the teacher, smiled kindly. “No worries. You’re Mary, right? Just go take a seat next to Kevin, in the back corner.”

As Mary made her way to the back, her heart seized. Kevin. He was impossibly attractive, his jet-black hair and pale skin a stark contrast to eyes so dark they seemed to swallow the light. He didn’t even glance up as she settled into the desk beside him, completely engrossed in his own world. This was going to be… interesting.
