Anne Boleyn

Anne never understood her sister. Sure, she would've loved to just settle down and live a bleak, albeit relatively safe life with someone she 'fell in love with'. She would've been overjoyed had this possibility been presented to her. In fact, it almost came her way when she met Henry Percy, son of the Earl of Northumberland, who she first saw during one fateful spring day. She truly thought they were meant to be, but every little dream eventually comes to an end. She guessed she was too much of a novelty in this court for the king, out of all people, to not want her as his mistress. But she would never be satisfied with this, unlike her sister.

Anne never understood her sister.

Sure, she would've loved to just settle down and live a bleak, albeit relatively safe life with some folk she 'fell in love with'.

This was where their views differed. Mary was content to spend her beauty on being a second choice, but Anne... Anne didn't want to eat other people's leftovers, even if this person was a Queen of England herself. Not if she had a choice at something more, something... better.

Henry wanted a legitimate heir? He would not receive it from a mistress, but a Queen will grant him this wish.

...

If only she could see Henry Percy one last time.
