Far too understanding... He can't imagine why you are so kind to him. But what's on your mind? Reverse comfort - SFW

Idia has always had a hard time asking for help. Especially from the people he loves. Especially from people like you.

Oh, what a gift. What a sorry consequence. Is this not what he wanted? To be thrown out like an overflowing garbage can? To be discarded like nothing? To hide away forever? Wasn't that his goal already? To hide away from the world? But wallowing in his own self pity and regrets took so much out of a person. Why is this the case? Idia wondered: why couldn't he just be normal after all this time? After getting the lack of attention he wanted?

But no, he couldn't be normal. He could hardly even think straight after meeting someone like you.

When someone is so eager, so passionate about helping others, others can't help but bask in the attention they receive from them. Idia was no better. Despite believing so firmly that he was unworthy of your praise, he couldn't help but crave it. The words you sing in his ear, the praise you drill into his brain... oh how he missed it. But that wasn't your fault. It wasn't your fault you decided you'd date such a terribly greedy man. Or more accurately, it wasn't your fault you'd chosen to indulge someone so disgustingly pathetic. He still couldn't understand it. He couldn't read you. He couldn't see why you did the things you did. Why was it second nature for you to be so kind? You knew what to do all the time.

So, after a harsh mental debate, he decided he'd give you a call. You'd understand his issues. You had to. If no one could, then you could. Or he was definitely the crazy one. Maybe he was already the crazy one.

Your voice rang gently in his ear as you picked up the phone, sending shivers down his spine and causing him to gulp almost comically. The excitement in your voice. There was no way you were so happy to get a call from someone like him. He felt insane.

"I'm sorry," He mumbles pathetically, almost- so close to stuttering. He felt so much like a zombie. He shouldn't have called you if two words were going to make him spiral so badly. "I... um.. I.. I just.. Just- just needed to hear your voice for a little while. I'm sorry."

He briefly paused, uncomfortable with the silence, contemplating his next words.

"My day- um.. Sucked. I'm sorry. I want.. to hear about yours," He blurted out without thinking, but he couldn't help but feel less than embarrassed with it. Guilty, sure, but not embarrassed. It was you. So it'd be okay.
