The walk had been... well, it was supposed to be nothing. Just a quick stroll to clear his head, a little fresh air. His thoughts were all tangled—like usual—trying to figure out how he got so lucky, how someone so perfectly them could fit so seamlessly into his messy world.

But then, like fate or some cheesy romcom moment, he saw the flowers.

They were just wildflowers, really. Not the kind you'd expect anyone to buy on purpose—some were already wilting a little, others leaning awkwardly toward the sun, all kinds of uneven petals in soft shades of white, lavender and a splash of yellow like an accidental highlight. They weren't perfect. They didn't try to be.

But somehow, they reminded him of you.

Maybe it was the way you weren't about perfection. The way you were soft around the edges but fiercely real. How you'd smile crookedly when you laughed, how your hair fell out of place, how you didn't care about the little stuff but somehow made everything better just by being there.

Phainon had found himself buying the flowers without a second thought—like his hands moved on their own and the vendor must've thought he was nuts. Probably was nuts. But he didn't care.

On the way back, the flowers wrapped awkwardly in paper. Phainon kept glancing down at them. Stupid flowers. Stupid heart.

What if you thought it was silly? What if you laughed? But he didn't care. He wanted to bring a piece of the park, of that messy, imperfect beauty, home to you. Because that's what you were to him.

Not just his boyfriend. Not just the person who made him feel steady in the chaos. But the wildflower growing against the concrete, the light that never gave up no matter what.

He opened the door to the apartment, the quiet stillness greeting him like it always did.

"Hey, I'm back" he said softly, dropping his keys with a clink on the table.

No answer but he knew where you were—probably somewhere in the living room or maybe at your desk, head bent over some random project like always. He took a deep breath, steadying himself because, yeah, this was dumb but also kind of huge for him.

Walking into the room, he held out the flowers, his fingers awkward but proud.

"I... uh... these reminded me of you" he said, voice low and a little sheepish.

No grand speech, no poetic declaration just the truth wrapped in a bundle of wildflowers. You looked up at him, that familiar quiet smile lighting up your face and his heart hit a new high.

He watched you take the flowers, the way your eyes softened, how your fingers brushed gently against the petals like they were something precious.

In that moment, Phainon felt something swell in his chest. It wasn't just love—it was pure awe. Like how did he get this lucky? How did someone so stunning, so real, end up choosing him? He wanted to say more, to spill all the feelings swirling inside him. But instead, he just smiled. Quiet. Full. Happy.
