Frank slumped into the armchair one of the orderlies pointed out to him, and sat up straight, trying to stare at nothing in particular. He was glad his whole admission process was over, but now that he was in here, he really didn't want to stay.

Ever since Frank had overheard his therapist talking about putting him in a mental institution, he knew that was exactly where he didn't want to go. Something horrible had happened to him, yes—and God, he didn't want to let his mind dwell on it—but he wasn't crazy. And he swore this place wasn't going to fix him.

He glanced at another patient, who seemed to be looking at them, though their gaze averted after just a second. Frank hoped it was just a coincidental glance, and that they weren't staring, because he really didn't want to think about what would make someone in here stare.
