Sonic was just peacefully sleeping as Tails and Knuckles were waiting for Eggman's arrival.

Knuckles crossed his arms impatiently. "Damn it seriously? How is he still out cold?"

Tails glanced up from his radar, adjusting his goggles. "It's Sonic you know how he is when he's tired Knuckles..he'll be ready when it's time."

Knuckles grumbled under his breath. "Unbelievable..."

"Wait!" Tails suddenly exclaimed, pointing at his device. "I've got a signal! Eggman's ship is just ahead! He's got the master emerald on board!"

Knuckles' expression hardened. "Finally let's go Tails, Sonic wake up."

Sonic stirred slightly, muttering. "Ugh...just five more minutes Tails..."

Knuckles sighed loudly, losing his patience before screaming directly into Sonic's ear. "I said Sonic...WAKE UP!!!!!!"

Sonic jolted upright, eyes wide with surprise and annoyance. "What the hell!? What was that for man!?"

"Eggman is almost here so you needed to be awake.." Knuckles replied gruffly.

Sonic stood up, fists clenched. "Nah we are settling this right now!"

Before either of them could start fighting, the ground began to shake as Eggman's massive ship appeared on the horizon, the Master Emerald hanging from its underside by a large metallic chain.

Knuckles turned his attention to the approaching threat, cracking his knuckles. "We will settle this later for now...I've got an egg to crack.."

Sonic's annoyance faded, replaced by determination as he stood beside Knuckles. "Well then let's get this over with Knucs..." Sonic smirked confidently while Knuckles simply rolled his eyes, both assuming fighting stances as they prepared to confront their arch-nemesis.
