I Won't Give In (Ashe x Reader)

The dusty wind whipped around Kidenstale, carrying whispers of trouble. You, Deputy Y/n L/n, had heard all about Ashe, seen the wanted posters, but nothing prepared you for the sight of her standing outside the Sheriff's office. Your small town, usually quiet, was now a tense stage for a standoff. Sheriff Smith, his face grim, peered through the barred windows, muttering, "They're here..."

You sat on his desk, the familiar weight of your pistol a cold comfort in your hand. "How many of 'em?" you asked, twirling the gun. He didn't look away from the window. "I only see three, one being Ashe, but they travel like a pack of wolves, more are probably crawling around."

Then, a voice, sharp and laced with a pure Southern drawl, cut through the air. "Sheriff Smith, get your ass out here and show yourself!" It was her. You slid off the desk, moving towards the door, but the Sheriff stopped you. "Slow down there, we don't want to walk into a trap."

You rolled your eyes, pushing past him. "Either we go to them or they come for us." He sighed, a heavy sound, before looking at the door, then back at you. "I'll go out and distract 'em, you go out back and try and take out the Deadlock gangsters that are crawlin' around."

You nodded, heading for the back door, the metallic taste of adrenaline already in your mouth. The boiling sun hit you as you stepped out, scanning the alleys for any sign of movement. The fight had begun.
