Lone Wolf *The Animals MC book one*

The aroma of stale grease and lukewarm coffee clung to the air of the diner, a familiar scent Morgan knew all too well. Her feet ached, a persistent throb mirroring the exhaustion in her bones after another fourteen-hour shift. Her hand instinctively found its way to her very pregnant belly, a small comfort in the weariness.
Another doctor's appointment loomed, an unwelcome chore after the long day. Just as she resigned herself to the endless cycle of work and exhaustion, a small blonde woman breezed through the diner doors. Morgan had seen her before – ripped denim, braided blonde hair, and a leather jacket adorned with the patches of an MC. A ripple of unease, both familiar and unwelcome, stirred within her.
"Yo, CJ, the club wants their month's rent!" the blonde called out, her high-heeled boots clicking a sharp rhythm on the floor. CJ, the diner's owner and chef, emerged from the back, his gaze briefly sweeping over Morgan before she quickly ducked her head, busying herself with collecting plates. The confrontation began, and Morgan, weary and invisible, just wanted to go home.
