Insane 3 // Colby Brock

The air thrummed with a nervous excitement I hadn't felt since… well, since my life changed forever. Today, however, was a different kind of change. A beautiful one.
“You look amazing, Scar.” Sam’s voice, steady and warm, cut through my rising anxiety. I managed a shaky smile. My dress, a cascade of white lace and silk, felt heavy with the weight of expectation, but also with immense joy.
“Thanks, Sammy.”
I watched through the small crack in the doors as the wedding party made their procession. Each pair, a testament to the family Colby and I had built, walked with smiles and laughter. Tom and Marie, Gage and Lesa, Caleb and Lexi, Gus and Gabby—each one a beloved face, a piece of our story.
Then, Mike and our sweet Aurora, Lucas and Thomas, their tiny figures a beacon of pure innocence, made their slow, deliberate journey down the aisle. My breath hitched.
“Are you ready?” Gus and Caleb asked in unison, their hands finding mine, their grip firm and reassuring. I shook my head, my throat tight. “I’m scared,” I whispered, a nervous tremor in my voice.
“Hey, it’s gonna be okay,” Caleb reassured, ever the calm one. Gus, however, leaned in conspiratorially. “Don’t think about that, girl. You’re literally about to marry the love of your life! Think about… think about how hard he’s gonna cry when he sees you.”
A quiet laugh escaped me, the tension easing slightly. They continued to chatter about random things, their voices a comforting drone against the frantic beat of my heart, until the familiar, ethereal notes of 'Here Comes the Bride' filled the air. My breath caught again, but this time, it was from overwhelming emotion.
“Ready?” they asked again, their arms looping through mine, their hands still holding tight.
“No, but let’s do it.”
