The air in dorm 54A hung heavy with the scent of stale sports equipment and something vaguely masculine. Avery, fresh off an eighteen-hour drive, stood amidst a sea of hockey memorabilia, a towel wrapped precariously around her. She had just stepped out of the shower, her hair still damp, when the door burst open.

Four figures filled the doorway, all male, all staring. Her eyes widened. One, a tall blondish boy wearing a hoodie with '94' emblazoned across the chest, was the first to speak.

"I think you've got the wrong room," he said, his voice laced with an infuriating mix of certainty and amusement. Avery's heart hammered against her ribs. The only thing she was wearing was a towel.

"Uhm no, I think maybe you guys mistaken the room," she managed, her voice a little shaky.

He smirked. "Yeah no, I think you've got the wrong room, princess. This is my room."

'Princess'? Oh, he was going to be a problem. "I'm Ethan," he added, a challenge in his eyes. "And you are?"

"I'm Avery," she replied, straightening her shoulders despite the flimsy towel. "I was just assigned this room."
