Pet

Pet
Waking up in an alien world, Alex finds himself a captive, a pet to a towering, scaly being. His only hope for survival lies in understanding his new reality and finding a way back home. But in a world where humans are pets, escape is a dangerous game. Will Alex find freedom, or will he forever be a pampered, if terrified, companion?

The world shifted around me, not with a gentle fade, but a jarring jolt. My senses, usually so reliable, rebelled. A cloying scent, like a thousand lawnmowers gone wild, attacked my nose, forcing a ragged groan from deep within my chest.

My bed, or what I thought was my bed, felt strangely fuzzy. I stretched, a yawn escaping, only to spit out a mouthful of the same irritating fluff. "What the..." I mumbled, eyes snapping open.

My vision cleared, and my breath hitched. This wasn't my room. This wasn't my house. I was outside, but everything was wrong. The trees were a startling, unnatural blue, their leaves shimmering like light caught in glass. The ground beneath me wasn't grass, but a thick, vibrant yellow fuzz. The houses looming in the distance were colossal, impossibly tall structures that dwarfed anything I'd ever seen. Above, the sky pulsed with a dark green hue, bruised by even darker blue clouds.

"Where am I?" The whisper was barely audible, swallowed by the unsettling alien quiet.
