Captured by aliens (It was his own fault)

Sean woke to a searing bright light assaulting his eyes, immediately followed by the familiar sting of a fist connecting with his face. Another day, another beating. He usually managed to duck and weave, to disappear into the teeming hallways of the school before Matt and his two lackeys could corner him. Not today.
He twisted, a desperate surge of adrenaline propelling him, and Matt’s next punch slammed into the brick wall with a sickening crunch. The moment of pain, of surprise, was all Sean needed. He was off, a blur of motion, weaving through the late-day student traffic, until he was lost in the anonymity of the crowd.
Classes finally bled out, and Sean, dreading the empty house, opted for his usual escape: the forest. He wandered aimlessly, kicking at stones, tossing sticks into the undergrowth, his mind a quiet void. Hours melted away, and the sun began its slow descent. He’d been lost before; it was fine.
But as twilight deepened, a new unease prickled him. This time felt different. As he hopped over a moss-covered fallen tree, he saw it: a swath of destruction, trees snapped like twigs, a fresh dirt trail carved into the earth. Curiosity, a dangerous companion, urged him forward.
