My Giant Family

The school grounds lay eerily quiet, save for the rhythmic kick of my shoe against the grass. My phone buzzed in my pocket, a persistent reminder of the outside world, but I ignored it. I was waiting for Daniel, my eldest giant brother, to finally emerge from the cavernous school. He was taking forever. Beside me, Axel, my other giant brother, sat on the curb, his long legs sprawled out like fallen trees. He was engrossed in a call with his girlfriend, Piper, his voice a low rumble.
"I wish you were here today, I was so lonely in art," Axel mumbled, brushing his light brown hair from his eyes, his gaze fixed on his hand. I smirked. He was such a suck-up when it came to Piper, a Vareshian just like him, Daniel, and our little sister, Lola. Me? I was human, just like Mom. And that, in a family of giants, made for an interesting life.
