She's With Me (Wattpad Books Edition)

The warning bell shrieked, a jarring sound that sent students scrambling like a startled flock of pigeons. "Shit," I muttered, clutching my schedule tighter. King City High School, a maze disguised as an educational institution, had officially defeated me.
My first class, Room 341, remained an elusive myth, and with only five minutes to spare, panic began to prickle. Not that I could move much faster anyway, not with my ribs still tender from my last 'accident.' The curt secretary's 'Good luck' this morning now felt less like a wish and more like a curse.
"Screw it," I hissed, fumbling through my shoulder bag for the map I couldn't read anyway. Being late was one thing; screaming 'New girl, eat me alive!' by navigating with a map was another entirely.
My desperate dash down the hall ended abruptly. A solid wall of muscle, or rather, a group of giant walking trees slash teenage boys, materialized in my path. I hugged the wall, tried to grab the map, and instantly, pain shot through my side. I'd collided with a stupidly protruding brick outcrop, stopping just short of a full face-plant. My belongings scattered across the floor like confetti. "Great. Just freaking great."
