Hidden love

Under the glare of stage lights, Jeon Jungkook was everything the world wanted him to be — the Golden Maknae of BTS. To millions, he was confident, unstoppable, and endlessly talented. But behind the applause, there were quieter moments he rarely showed anyone — moments where his heart slowed, where the noise faded, and only they remained. Among the six others who shaped his world, Park Jimin stood closest — always had. Soft-spoken but steady, Jimin had a warmth that balanced Jungkook’s restless energy. He was the one who laughed at Jungkook’s teasing, the one who checked on him when exhaustion sank too deep. To fans, their bond was legendary — Jikook, they called it. To Jungkook, it was something he couldn’t quite name yet. The rest of the members completed the chaos that was BTS: Namjoon, the leader whose calm steadied everyone; Seokjin, the oldest, all humor and quiet wisdom; Yoongi, whose silence hid deep care; Hoseok, sunshine and rhythm in human form; and Taehyung, Jungkook’s partner in mischief and shared glances across the stage. Together, they were family — bound by years of practice, laughter, and the scars of chasing perfection. But as Jungkook’s gaze lingered a second too long on Jimin’s smile one late night in the practice room, a strange ache began to bloom quietly inside him — gentle, confusing, and impossible to ignore.

The bright studio lights shimmered off the sleek black floor as BTS took their seats on the curved couch. The crowd buzzed with excitement — cameras flashing, fans cheering softly behind the set barriers. Jungkook adjusted his mic and glanced at the others; it was another long day of promotions, but somehow, interviews like these still felt like home.

“Welcome, BTS!” the host greeted, smiling wide. “Today we’re doing a special segment — ‘How Well Do You Know Each Other?’ Each of you will get two questions. You’ll write your answers on a pad, and your members will guess what you wrote. Let’s see who’s been paying attention!”

The members laughed, clapping in mock tension.

“Let’s start with the youngest — Jungkook!”

He straightened slightly, grinning. “Oh, no… this already sounds dangerous.”

The host chuckled. “First question — what’s Jungkook’s comfort food when he’s stressed?”

Pads flipped open immediately. Taehyung scribbled confidently, Hoseok hummed aloud, Namjoon frowned in thought. Jimin, sitting next to Jungkook, didn’t even hesitate. He smiled to himself, writing quickly before folding his pad face-down.

“Alright, reveal!” the host said.

“Chicken!” shouted Jin. “Ramyeon!” from Hobi. “Meat,” Yoongi mumbled. “Fried chicken and cola,” Jimin said simply.

Jungkook lifted his pad — Fried chicken and cola.

“Correct!” the host laughed. “Only Jimin got it right!”

The members groaned in defeat while Jimin raised his hand in victory. “Of course I know,” he teased, nudging Jungkook lightly. “He always eats it after practice when he thinks no one’s watching.”

Jungkook chuckled, his ears turning slightly red. “I didn’t know you noticed that.”

“I notice everything,” Jimin replied with a playful smirk, but his tone held something softer beneath it — the kind of warmth that made Jungkook’s heart flicker strangely.

The game continued with rounds of laughter and teasing — Jin revealing Yoongi’s midnight snacking habits, Hoseok guessing Taehyung’s favorite color wrong on purpose, Namjoon overanalyzing his own question. The room was filled with noise and comfort, the familiar kind only they shared.

But when it was Jimin’s turn, and his question came — Who does Jimin talk to the most when he’s feeling down? — Jungkook didn’t even think. He scribbled his answer and waited.

The host counted down. “Three, two, one — reveal!”

The other members held up different names, but Jungkook’s pad read only one word: Me.

Jimin looked over — eyes warm, soft, almost proud — and smiled as he lifted his own pad.

“Jungkook.”

The studio erupted in cheers and laughter, but for Jungkook, the sound dulled for a second. Because suddenly, his heart did something strange again — something that no camera could ever catch.
