The familiar scent of city pollution filled your nostrils as you stepped out of your apartment building, the gentle clack of your heels echoing on the pavement. It was 8:45 AM, a sunny day in Philadelphia, but the cool wind promised a pleasant shift. You felt a familiar swagger in your step, the weight of your badge a comforting presence at your hip. You passed two men on the street corner, their catcalls fading as you flashed your badge, a silent deterrent.

Inside the station, the aroma of cheap coffee hung heavy in the air. "Good morning, Dixon," you greeted, heading for the coffeemaker. Matt, ever the meticulous one, was already there, pushing up his thick-rimmed glasses. He looked tired, a common state for him. "Sleep well?" he asked. "As per usual," you replied, pouring your own coffee into your '#1 Cop' mug. Three weeks into your detective promotion, and the job was still a thrill. "Anything new happening with the promotion?" Matt inquired. You shrugged. "Not really. Aside from a few robberies, they just use me as a cop."

Before Matt could delve deeper, Commander Johnson walked in, his face etched with anxiety. "We need everyone in the conference room. Now." His eyes met yours. "Lieutenant, we cannot let this tip slip out of our fingertips." A 'gang' tip. Something about it gnawed at you, a prickle of unease. "What if the caller is luring us into a trap?" you asked, but your concerns were brushed aside. As you followed him out, the familiar rush of adrenaline surged. This was your job.
