BLOODBONDS

The ancient Kastriell mansion, usually alive with the soft hum of vampire life, felt heavy tonight. Drakon, the patriarch, stood at his study window, lost in thought, while downstairs, the familiar squabbling of his sons, Corvin and Lucien, echoed.
"I'm telling you, Mom, it's not fair!" Lucien's voice, laced with youthful frustration, cut through the quiet. "Corvin got to learn his powers years ago, and now I'm just starting to develop mine."
Drakon descended the grand staircase, exchanging a knowing glance with Vivianna, their expressions a mix of excitement and trepidation. Corvin and Lucien looked at each other, sensing a shift in the air.
"What is it, Mom? Dad?" Corvin asked, his eyes wide with curiosity.
Vivianna smiled, her eyes sparkling with an almost mischievous magic. "But I think it's time I showed you both something new." She raised her hands, and a soft, golden light enveloped her sons. As it faded, they looked at their hands in wonder.
"What is this, Mom?" Corvin whispered.
"It's a gift," Vivianna replied, her smile widening. "With this magic, you'll be able to walk in the daylight without fear. No more hiding in the shadows."
Lucien's face lit up, a joyous exclamation escaping his lips. "Really? We can go outside during the day?"
Vivianna nodded, her gaze full of warmth. "Yes, my dear sons. You're free to explore the world in all its beauty."
