Define Sociopath
Trapped in a dark motel, Delilah wakes to find herself at the mercy of Isaac Fisher, a man feared far beyond Chicago. Her innocent world collides with his chilling reality, forcing her to confront a terrifying question: Can a human be so devoid of emotion? As she fights for survival, a sinister game of cat and mouse unfolds, blurring the lines between protector and captor. Will Delilah escape the sociopath's grasp, or become another one of his victims?

The pitch-dark motel room offered no comfort, only the creeping unease of an unknown place. Lashes of light rays flickered past the curtains, painting fleeting patterns on Delilah's slumbering face. She rustled, thrashing and flipping to escape the intrusive glare, burying her face into what she thought was her pillow. The supposed pillow, however, was unnervingly cold, and a shiver traced her spine as ice-cold fingers grasped her bare waist, pulling her closer.

She woke with a gasp, eyes snapping open to find herself pinned against a hard chest. A hot breath caressed her earlobe, and then she saw him. Isaac Fisher. His jet-black eyes, like a demon's, bored into hers, a demonic smirk stretching across his lips. Fear, raw and absolute, seized her. Her heart froze, and a horror-filled scream tore from her chapped lips.

"My sweet Delilah, you really don't apprehend what's happening, now do you?" His voice, a low snarl, was laced with an unsettling amusement. She scrambled away, tumbling off the bed and landing with a thud on the grimy, stained carpet. Panic consumed her. How did he know her name? Why was she barely clothed? And where, for God's sake, was she?
