SHE LOOKED LIKE SOMEONE I LOST

The night was wrapped in a heavy silence, the kind that made even shadows feel alive. Under a flickering streetlight, a young girl stood alone. She couldn't have more than thirteen. In her small hand, she clutched a worn-out teddy bear - the only warmth in the cold wind brushing against her trembling frame. Her wide eyes stared across the road, fixed on something... or someone.
From the darkness, a figure slowly approached. The closer he came, the more intense her gaze grew. When he was just a few steps away, the girl finally spoke, her voice soft, but haunting.
"You could've saved me... but you didn't."
Again and again, she repeated those words - each time louder, sharper, more accusing. Her voice echoed into the void, each syllable digging deep into the listener's soul, until the sound became unbearable. And just as the tension reached its peak- Dev woke up.
His body jerked upright, drenched in sweat. His chest heaved, breath shallow, heart racing. It was that dream again. The same terrifying scene that refused to leave his mind. He wiped his forehead and sat still, trying to calm himself. Sleep didn't visit him again that night.
