The Abandoned Swing

The Abandoned Swing
When a seemingly innocent research project unearths a chilling newspaper clipping about a 'haunted house,' four friends—Airin, Jessy, Ryan, and Alby—are drawn into a real-life mystery. What begins as a quest to debunk urban legends quickly spirals into a terrifying struggle for survival within the eerie confines of the Crystal Lake Estate. As strange occurrences and unsettling revelations mount, they must confront their deepest fears and uncover the dark truths hidden within the house's decaying walls. Will they escape the clutches of the past, or become another tragic footnote in the estate's grim history?

The school library, usually a sanctuary of hushed whispers and turning pages, felt unusually suffocating to Airin. Tapping her foot with restless energy, she glanced at her watch for the tenth time. Jessy, her usually punctual best friend, was late. It was all for this dreadful research project, a relic from an era before Google, demanding physical books.

"Where the hell have you been?" Airin demanded the moment Jessy finally appeared, her loose, modest dress flowing around her as she approached.

Jessy grinned, unfazed. "If your boyfriend hadn't stopped me on my way, I would have been the one asking that."

Airin slapped her forehead. "I forgot to message him this morning." She pulled out her phone, five missed calls and a barrage of WhatsApp messages lighting up the screen. Ms. Suzan, their formidable librarian, loomed in Airin's mind. "I didn't want Ms. Suzan giving me another warning so I kept it in silent mode."

Before Airin could dial, Jessy snatched the phone, tucking it back into the bag. "You don't have to call him now. I told him we'd be in the library... and that he should meet us here in an hour." With that, Jessy pulled a protesting Airin through the silent library doors.
