Godzilla War of the Monsters

The cold steel of the military hanger gleamed under the harsh fluorescent lights, a stark contrast to the vast, open desert beyond. Riley Becket, lean and focused in his fresh uniform, jogged beside Mako Moori. Her breath hitched, a faint mist in the cool air, as they finished their final lap.
"Wow, training is much tougher than I thought," Mako panted, wiping sweat from her brow.
Riley offered a sympathetic smile. "Well, now you know. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll make it through." His words, though simple, carried a quiet confidence.
Just as they reached for their water bottles, a soldier approached, his salute crisp. "Commander Gyozen requests your presence in his office, sirs."
Riley exchanged a glance with Mako. "Huh. Very well. Tell him we're on our way." He watched the soldier depart before turning to Mako. "Why do you think the Commander wants to see us?"
Mako shrugged, her brow furrowed in thought. "I don't know. But I'm sure we'll find out soon enough."
A sense of anticipation, heavy and undefined, settled between them as they followed the path to Commander Gyozen's office, unaware that their lives, and perhaps the world, were about to irrevocably change.
