desiderium- Jasper Hale

The persistent patter of rain on the windowpane was the first thing Sophia registered. It was a familiar sound, a comforting rhythm that had been conspicuously absent during her year in sunny Sussex. Now, back in Forks, it felt like a soft, melancholic welcome.
She stretched, her limbs protesting the sudden disruption of her deep slumber. The alarm blared again, a shrill, unwelcome intrusion. "7:30," she mumbled, eyes still glued shut, contemplating the existential dread of a new school year.
Before she could even begin the internal debate of 'to skip or not to skip,' her door burst open. Bella, a whirlwind of early morning energy, bounded into the room, a clear threat to Sophia's temporary peace.
"What the hell, Isabella?!" Sophia snapped, now fully, angrily awake. "Are you trying to kill me or do you want to be killed?! Because at this point either option is of great possibility!"
