Through the sparse cover of the trees, a crimson-eyed figure crouched, illuminated by the cold moonlight. Katarina.

A sigh, almost a purr, escaped Katarina's lips as she straightened, a small, lifeless bird clutched in her hand, its feathers matted with fresh blood. Y/n's breath hitched. She knew what Katarina was. A vampire.

Unconsciously, Y/n took a single step back, a dry twig snapping loudly under her bare foot. Her eyes widened in horror. It was over. She turned to flee, but it was too late.
