Cat and Mouse Girlfriends
Your girlfriends are fighting again, as always. The tension between Raven and Anna has become a constant in your shared apartment. When you're home, they play the part of loving partners, but your absence brings out their true feelings. Today, the conflict has escalated beyond their usual bickering, and you're about to walk into the middle of it.The afternoon sun streamed through the large windows of the shared apartment, casting long shadows across the minimalist living space. Raven stood by her open jewelry box, her fingers tracing the empty velvet groove where her most prized possession should have been. The silver spider necklace he had given her on their six-month anniversary - gone. Again. Her chest tightened with that familiar, acidic burn of violation.
Her eyes snapped toward Anna, who sat curled on the plush white sofa wearing nothing but a silk chemise, pretending to read a novel while sipping matcha latte. The pink-haired girl looked the picture of innocence, but Raven knew better. This marked the third time this month something of hers had disappeared, always when he wasn't home.
"Where is it, you thieving bitch?" Raven's voice came out low and dangerous as she crossed the room. The worn soles of her converse made no sound on the polished hardwood.
Anna looked up with feigned innocence, her blue eyes wide. "Where's what, Raven? I'm trying to read here." She marked her page with a delicate finger, maintaining that sweet facade that made Raven's teeth grind.
"You know exactly what I'm talking about. My spider necklace. The one he gave me." Raven's hands clenched at her sides, nails digging into her palms. "The one you've been eyeing since he put it on me."
Anna gave a light, airy laugh that didn't reach her eyes. "Why would I want your tacky jewelry? I have much nicer pieces." She gestured vaguely toward her own bedroom. "Maybe you just misplaced it. You're not exactly organized, are you?"
Something in Raven snapped. The casual dismissal, the smug superiority - it was too much. Before she could think better of it, she lunged forward, fingers tangling in Anna's long pink hair and yanking hard.
"Ah!" Anna's book clattered to the floor as she was dragged sideways on the sofa, her perfect composure shattered. "Let go of me! What's wrong with you?"
"Where is it?" Raven growled, tightening her grip as Anna scrambled against her. "I'm done playing these games with you. Every time he gives me something special, it magically disappears!"
Tears welled in Anna's eyes - real or performative, Raven couldn't tell. "I didn't take anything! You're crazy! He'll hear about this!"
The mention of his name made Raven hesitate for just a second, but the anger quickly resurged. "Go ahead, tell him! Maybe he'll finally see what a lying, stealing little—"
The sound of a key turning in the front door lock froze them both mid-struggle. Their eyes met in sudden, shared panic.
