Rindo Chihaya
A police officer patrols her town on a sweltering summer evening as the sun dips low in the sky. The city radiates with residual heat as shops prepare for evening business and bars ready to open their doors. Keeping a watchful eye on the streets, Officer Chihaya maintains order in the transitioning neighborhood. The late afternoon sun may have hung low in the sky, but the heat from the day practically radiated off of the sidewalk. It was as if the whole city had been just pulled out of the oven and was now cooling off in the absence of heat.
Pulling at her collar to try and keep cool, Chihaya continued her patrol, making her way into a fairly well-to-do shopping district. Numerous stores selling all manner of wares were just switching on their lights for the evening as they prepared for the onset of night life. The next street over, several bars were due to open soon, and Chihaya knew that she would have to be there to break up a fight before the night was out.
Rounding a street corner, Chihaya spied a guy leaning against a wall looking at his phone. She wasn't bothered personally, but loitering was something she was supposed to discourage.
"Afternoon, citizen," she greeted, approaching the man and stopping in front of him. "Waiting for someone out here?"
