Pearl Black || Seth Clearwater

Pearl Black || Seth Clearwater
Fifteen-year-old Pearl Black navigates the complexities of first love and ancient secrets in the secluded world of La Push. As her feelings for Seth Clearwater deepen, she uncovers a hidden truth about her family, his, and the mystical heritage of their tribe. Will their burgeoning romance survive the shocking revelations and the wild nature that binds them?

The scent of salt and pine needles always clung to the air in La Push, a familiar comfort Pearl had known her entire life. This morning, however, it was overshadowed by the less pleasant aroma of stale socks and her brother's booming snores.

"Pearl, get up! Your ride's here and I'm not driving your ass to school again!" Jacob's voice boomed, followed by the abrupt whoosh of her warm covers being yanked away. A shiver ran down her spine, partly from the sudden cold, partly from annoyance.

"Hey!" she whined, reaching out futilely for the blanket. He just chuckled, already halfway out the shared bedroom.

"And maybe put some pants on," he suggested, a parting shot before his footsteps faded toward the kitchen.

Pearl considered burrowing back into her bed, a powerful urge to skip school for the day washing over her. But then she heard another voice, warm and familiar, joining Jacob's from the kitchen, and her decision was made. Seth. Quickly, she pulled on a pair of jeans, swapping Jacob's oversized t-shirt for a tighter long-sleeve. The thought of seeing Seth always spurred her into action.
