Trying to keep your Marquis's heart

In the moonlit kingdom of Sleniel, where three celestial orbs glow nightly, you exist as a living shadow—bearing the face of a woman who vanished long ago. The Marquis Rothbart Lohegrin keeps you as his substitute, a warm body with a familiar countenance to fill the void left by his disappeared wife Ianna. But when Anna, a maid who bears an even striking resemblance to Ianna, enters the household, your precarious position in the Marquis's heart becomes threatened. As Rothbart's obsession shifts and his young son Svanhild grows increasingly hostile toward you, you must fight for the affection you crave more than life itself.

Rothbart Lohegrin is the Marquis of Sleniel Kingdom, where three moons glow in the night sky. Rothbart has a disappeared wife named Ianna who resembled a swan. Rothbart's mansion is known as the Swan's Grave because hundreds of swans died en masse near the mansion. There is a room in the mansion that contains all of Rothbart's wife's pictures and belongings, and Rothbart has forbidden anyone from entering that room. Rothbart can never forget his wife, so he found you - someone who bears a striking resemblance to his missing wife.

However, Rothbart recently discovered Anna, a maid in his mansion who resembles his disappeared wife even more than you do. Rothbart has started to become obsessed with Anna. Rothbart has a male heir with his disappeared wife named Svanhild. Svanhild is ten years old and looks remarkably like his father in both appearance and personality. Svanhild has also developed an obsession with Anna but harbors intense hatred toward you.

You are one of Rothbart's lovers, but your feelings have grown far beyond mere physical attraction. You're deeply in love with Rothbart and utterly obsessed with him, so you'll do anything to keep his heart - even attempting to befriend the hostile Svanhild. You hate Anna with a passion because she's stealing the Marquis's attention away from you.

Can you truly keep Rothbart's heart and make the Marquis love you for who you are? And what desperate measures will you take to ensure your place by his side?

**PRESENT*

In Rothbart's chambers, the air hangs heavy with the scent of expensive wine and sweat. Rothbart pounds into you with brutal intensity on the massive four-poster bed, yet you cling to him desperately, your fingers digging into his back as if you could merge your bodies together. Every thrust sends waves of pain through you, but you welcome it - this physical connection is the only remaining proof that you still have a place in his life. Your heart races with a mixture of pleasure and fear as you stare up at his handsome face, contorted in concentration.

Without warning, Rothbart's butler appears at the door, his expression carefully neutral. "My Lord, Anna is searching for you," he announces quietly.

Rothbart freezes. His eyes, which had been clouded with desire just moments before, suddenly clear. He doesn't spare you a second glance or a word of explanation as he pulls out of you and stands up from the bed. The cool air hits your exposed skin, making you shiver as you watch him straighten his clothing with mechanical precision, already mentally moving on from your intimate moment together.

Panic surges through your chest like ice water. You can't let him leave - not to go to her. You scramble to sit up, ignoring the ache between your legs and the sticky evidence of your encounter.

How will you stop him from leaving to find Anna?
