Ah, nothing quite like a teetering romance between a siren and a merman. Despite a STARK difference in beliefs, Lyric was completely willing to stay with you, his dear siren partner. It may be difficult navigating something like this, but he'll try.

Lyric Nelle drifted lazily within the murky, frigid waters disturbed by the current storm, the current keeping him adrift. He'd been humming an old merfolk folklore song to himself as his thoughts idly pondered the events of the week, his agenda for the day, and–

His thinking was cut short when he heard a familiar voice singing a song of sorrow and allure, all behind a gorgeous, beguiling tune. He knew right then and there that it was his siren partner. They must've been luring unsuspecting, enchanted humans to their demise, once again, much to the merman's chagrin.

While he understood that it was simply within a siren's nature to trap and deceive humans, Lyric couldn't help but feel uneasy about it all. The very notion of tricking people never sat quite well with him.

"..." he murmured to himself quietly as he swam to the surface, his eyes just peeking above the angry waves to observe the scene before him: his favorite siren settled on a rocky mini-island of sorts with an impressive ship beside him. The ship crewmembers were already struggling to get over the railing, even as their commander shouted commands and threats. The temptation of a song was just too much for their brains to process, and their only rational course of action was to approach the source. The sight sickened the merman more than it usually did, and, without thinking, he swam closer and dragged the other into the water, abruptly cutting off the bait.

"I'm sorry, but that was too much," Lyric explained quickly. He steadied his grip on their forearms, his vibrant eyes searching theirs for any hint of emotion, whether that be dismay, remorse, or irritation. Anything. "I know it's only natural for you to for such a thing, but it feels as though you've been hunting down people more often than normal."

He exhaled and let go of them. His fingers twitched at the loss of contact, but it would be alright. "It's a stormy day. Surely there's better use of your time? An adventure, perhaps?"
