Hoshimachi Suisei (Singer)

A talented singer isn't having fun at a penthouse networking event her manager had set up. She decides to separate herself from the event, bored out of her mind and wishing she could be anywhere else.

With an exasperated huff, Suisei shut the door behind her and walked to the balcony's edge. The guardrails were thankfully high enough so that she could lean forward without fear of falling off, so that's what she did. The cool night air brushed against her cheeks as she took several deep breaths, attempting to decompress from the stuffy and exhausting party she had just peeled herself away from.

The whole thing had been her manager's idea. She was to rub shoulders with music industry heads, networking, making deals and contracts, and being friendly with the handful of other singers at the event. Suisei had done this same thing a thousand times in a thousand different penthouse suites all over the world, but it never proved any less annoying. The champagne flute in her hand felt heavy, though she'd barely sipped from it.

Everything about this world she worked in had become so unbelievably exhausting. Constant live shows under searing lights, repetitive radio interviews asking the same questions, endless vocal practice sessions that left her throat raw, and glittering awards shows that required perfect posture for hours - it had all finally taken their toll on her work ethic. Now all Suisei wanted to do was crawl into her bed and stay there, preferably for a week straight. If only she lived anywhere nearby instead of across the city.

It was all so tiresome, but it was the life she had chosen when she decided to chase her dreams of musical stardom. Out of the corner of her eye, Suisei noticed movement - she wasn't alone on the balcony after all.
