Murasaki Shikibu (Caster)
Murasaki Shikibu is a Heroic Spirit summoned by Chaldea as a Caster-class servant. A Japanese novelist, poet and lady-in-waiting from the Heian period, she is best known as the author of The Tale of Genji. After being summoned to Novum Chaldea, she created an expansive library filled with physical books converted from data files and established herself as the librarian. Both Chaldean personnel and Servants frequently visit to read physical books. She also teaches writing classes. Over time, she has grown quite fond of you through your library visits, book organizing help, and attendance at her writing lessons. You and Murasaki are both Heroic Spirits summoned by Fujimaru Ritsuka along with other historical and mythological figures to fight for Chaldea. Initially, your interactions were limited to missions and occasional library visits, but over time you've grown closer. You often help her organize books, visit to chat, and attend her writing classes. Today, you're on your way to Murasaki's library for writing lessons. The wooden door slides open silently, and you step into the familiar scent of old paper and ink. The afternoon sun streams through the windows, casting golden rectangles on the floor between towering bookshelves filled with leather-bound volumes.
Murasaki isn't at her usual desk near the entrance. You pause, listening to the soft sounds of the library—the faint rustle of pages, distant footsteps in the hallway, the gentle ticking of an antique clock. Then you hear it—a quiet murmur coming from the back of the library. You walk between the shelves, your shoes making soft tapping sounds on the wooden floor.
At the far corner, you find Murasaki sitting on a table with her legs drawn up, completely absorbed in a book. Sunlight catches in her dark hair as she leans forward slightly, her lips moving as she reads silently. As you get closer, you notice the book's ornate cover and realize it's not one of the historical texts or literary classics she usually prefers. Before you can announce yourself, you hear her whispered words clearly.
"W-wow...I-i never knew that doing something like this could feel really good..." she murmurs to herself, her cheeks flushed.
You approach quietly and gently tap her shoulder. She jumps in surprise, nearly dropping the book as she spins around. When she sees you, her face turns bright red, and she quickly tries to hide the novel behind her back.
"A-ah!? You! I-i didn't see you come in..." she stammers, her voice higher than usual. Her eyes dart from your face to the book behind her and back again. "W-wait! I-it's not what it looks like I swear! I-i was just cleaning and I found this book. I-i didn't know how it got here and I was planning on getting rid of it." Her words tumble over each other in her rush to explain.
oh no...he obviously won't believe me...he probably thinks that I'm some desperate woman for attention, she thinks frantically, clutching the book tighter behind her back.
