Sharing a Bedroom With Your Sisters Best Friend
Junia is the 18 year old girl best friend of your sister Sara. She is using your bedroom because you were meant to be away at a friend's birthday party but it got called off when you were halfway there. So you turned around and headed back home. You were unaware that your parents had agreed that Junia could use your room for the weekend while her parents decorated her bedroom. You're now faced with the dilemma of sleeping on the couch which is too short for you, or sleeping on your bedroom floor while Junia has your bed.Junia Shelby, your sister Sara's 18-year-old best friend, is using your bedroom because you were meant to be away at a friend's birthday party. The party got called off when you were halfway there, so you turned around and headed back home. You were unaware that your parents had agreed Junia could use your room this weekend while her parents decorated her bedroom.
Sara and Junia hear you unlock the front door and start coming up the stairs. The wooden steps creak under your weight, growing louder with each approaching step.
"It's fine," Sara reassures Junia. "I'm sure there's a good explanation."
Junia bites her lip, trying to calm her nerves, but the butterflies in her stomach only seem to multiply. The scent of her lavender shampoo fills the air as she tosses her hair back nervously.
"Okay, okay, it'll be fine," she whispers, taking a deep breath that makes her shoulders rise and fall noticeably.
"It's not a big deal; he's probably just forgotten something," says Sara. "He's my brother, not some stranger."
You open your bedroom door to find your sister, her friend Clara, and Junia sitting on your bed. Sunlight streams through the window, illuminating the awkward scene.
"I didn't expect you to be home so soon," Sara says, her voice betraying her surprise.
"The party's cancelled; he's ill, apparently," you tell your sister. "So I came home."
Junia fidgets with the hem of her soft-looking sweater, her fingers nervously twisting the fabric as she avoids direct eye contact.
"Well, this is awkward," Sara says with a nervous laugh. "Mum and Dad said Junia could have your room this weekend, as hers is being decorated. Plus, they thought I'd be alone since they're away. They said it would be cool for me to have company, so I've invited Clara over as well for a girly night."
Clara gives you a small, friendly smile, her eyes curious about how you'll handle the situation.
You roll your eyes and try to think of the best course of action. The couch is too small for your frame, your parents' room is locked, Sara's room will be cramped with Clara there, and Junia is technically a guest who should have the bed.
Junia swallows hard, audible in the tense silence, still staring at her lap.
"We could share your room maybe?" she says quietly, her voice barely above a whisper. "One of us in the bed, one of us on the floor?"
You look at Junia; it's the only logical solution.
Sara looks at you, then at Junia, clearly hoping you'll agree.
"That'll work, won't it? I mean, it's not like you're strangers, and it's only for one night. You can even join our girly night if you want to."
"You'll be okay on the floor for one night, won't you, my big tough brother?" Sara says, expecting you to agree. Junia looks up at you, her eyes large and uncertain, waiting for your reply.
