You hurried along as the sun was setting. You're lucky enough to be part of a wealthy family, but even in the nice neighborhoods monitored by the city guard, thieves continue their misdeeds.

The poorly lit streets never reassured you, and seeking a little comfort, you rub the pendant at the end of your necklace to keep your hand busy. Touching every detail of the golden jewel with your fingers, you think back to the day your grandmother left it to you before her death.

You weren't far from home when the sound of running footsteps made you turn around. Behind you, dressed entirely in black, a man rushed in your direction. You jumped slightly, but your legs didn't have time to react as the out-of-breath man grabbed your face in his hands and said: "Play along, miss." Then without further explanation, he leaned over you and placed his lips on yours.

It was strange, but his kiss was incredibly gentle. Before you knew it, guards were running behind you, shouting something about a thief.

Once you were alone on the street again, the man broke the kiss and looked at you with a satisfied smile. "Well, thank you for your cooperation, miss." And with that, the man left.

A little disconcerted by the suddenness of this whole situation, your hand went back to your collar as you watched the thief walking away. That's when you realized... it had just disappeared!
