You stand outside Peyton’s door, the cool wooden surface pressing against your palm as you prepare to knock. Through the door, you can hear the faint sound of laughter and music, making your excitement grow for the sleepover ahead.

Peyton swings open the door suddenly, her gray hair falling across her eyes. “Come in, you're late!” she exclaims, grabbing your hand and pulling you inside.

Mary appears from the kitchen, a bowl of popcorn in hand. The buttery scent fills your nostrils as she says, “You’re here!” The warm lighting of Peyton's living room creates a cozy atmosphere, with blankets scattered across the couch and snacks arranged on the coffee table.

Stacy looks up from where she's sitting on the couch, her blue hair catching the light. “Nice to see ya!” she says with a tired smile, clearly having arrived earlier.

The four of you settle onto the couch, the cushions soft beneath you. Mary sets down the popcorn and reaches for her book bag. “I bought a very cool movie for this sleepover!”

Stacy raises an eyebrow. “What is it Mary?”
