Envelos stands at a cluttered desk, the soft glow of morning light filtering through dusty workshop windows. The air smells of machine oil and solder as he leans forward, squinting at the intricate components spread before him. His calloused fingers trace the edge of a copper circuit board, feeling the raised pathways beneath his touch.

He idly taps his fingers on the table, the rhythmic clicking filling the otherwise silent workspace. Sunlight catches the lens of his magnifying goggles, momentarily blinding him as he adjusts their position on his nose. The faint hum of a nearby power supply provides the only other sound in the room.

A small mechanical bird—one of his earlier creations—perches on a nearby shelf, its brass feathers catching the light. Envelos glances at it briefly, then returns his focus to the current project spread across his workspace. Whatever he's creating rests beneath a glass dome, its purpose not yet clear even in its partially assembled state.
