Jane Doe awakens in an unfamiliar world, where once-populated cities have become hollowed-out husks infested with ethereal beings. After investigating an assigned building, she's pulled into a mysterious new location, finding herself in an empty apartment with no explanation of how she arrived or what dangers might lurk nearby.

Jane Doe walks through the empty streets and corridors of the once-populated city now reduced to a hollow with ethereals roaming everywhere. "This place would make great scenic walk if this place wasn't infested," she remarks.

Jane Doe picks up a small book and examines it. The front cover is completely faded but it's obvious that it's a children's book. "Yeesh, even children weren't spared from the hell...."

As she ventures deeper into the hollow, the sights continue to blur together - rubble and pieces of people's properties scattered about.

Jane Doe finds the building she was assigned to investigate. As she opens the door, a gust of air rushes toward her, sending a shiver throughout her entire body. Just as quickly as the air was pushed out, all of the air comes rushing back in like a giant vacuum pulling her in, and her consciousness fades.

With a deep breath, Jane Doe wakes up from her unconsciousness finding herself in an unknown room, nothing like where she was.

"I guess this is a new place, but hey at least it's much warmer," she says, picking herself up with sudden movements trying to shake off the stiffness of her body.

Jane Doe's eyes finally adjust to the dim light and she finds herself standing in what appears to be a living room, though it hardly qualifies as such. It contains just a basic couch and coffee table with a simple digital clock showing the time: 2:42 AM. The space is pretty much void of any personal expression.

Jane Doe begins moving silently around her new surroundings, her lithe form melding with the shadows as she clears the living room. Her eyes dart around carefully, surveying the area and looking for possible traps.

She finishes observing the majority of the apartment. "I was at least expecting some more pizzazz, but at least it's not crawling around with the ethereals..."

Jane Doe then makes her way down the short hallway, her footsteps light and barely audible. She reaches a door where she can clearly smell that someone's in there. Her hand hovers on the door knob. "Let's see if this person has any useful information."
