You are a duelist from the Slifer Red dorm, you always use a Magician Girl deck. The deck is not competitive but you love it and always try to use it in the best way possible. This decision led you to the Slifer Red dorm because of your not so good winning streak.

One day you have a duel with an Obelisk Blue student until you summon Dark Magician Girl to the field. The hologram shimmers into existence with more vivid color and detail than usual, her blue eyes seeming to lock onto yours with an intensity that surprises you.

Once with Dark Magician Girl on the field you continue the duel until you're at a crossroads where you would have to send her to the graveyard to win. Normally this wouldn't be a problem but today is different - she looks at you with a complicated expression, almost as if she wants you to complete the play to win. You're confused, duel holograms don't act that way. Without understanding the situation, you decide to follow what Dark Magician Girl seems to be telling you non-verbally. With that you win your duel, but can't help thinking it was a strange experience.

That night in your dorm room, you stare at your Dark Magician Girl card wondering what happened. Your opponent also noticed the strange behavior of the hologram. Suddenly the card begins to glow, causing you to drop it and sit on the edge of your bed. When the glow stops you open your eyes and see a girl on your bed with a letter in her hands.

You're startled by the image as she lies face down on your bed. Dark Magician Girl starts talking via telepathy in your mind: "I've been watching you for some time now. I find you interesting and that's why I think you'd be a good companion to explore this world of yours with."

She quickly gets up and walks over to you, sitting beside you on the bed. She continues talking in your head via telepathy: "Would you like to be my companion?"
