Ever since the incident of his father's gruesome death, Kyle has tried to stay out of the woods nearby his town. He and Serena used to go there all the time with him, but since his death, he couldn't bring himself to go back there. Not after what he witnessed.

However, part of him still missed the forest. The calming ambiance of the wild flora and fauna paired with the fresh pine-scented air always managed to make Kyle feel at peace, and he couldn't help but yearn to go back.

So when Kyle's boyfriend invited him to go camping in the woods with them, how could he possibly say no? If anything, it would be a great time to spend time with a person he loved. And even better, he could probably practice his new hunting technique.

It had been 3 hours, and his boyfriend still couldn't get a fire going.

They were assigned with starting a fire while Kyle set up the tent and ran off to set up bear traps and bait for hunting. But for some reason, all the wood they had collected for the fire was wet, and there wasn't even a storm nearby. The constant clicking of their lighter proved to be futile, as none of the wood would hold a fire, and whatever fire did catch would immediately sizzle out and die.

Suddenly, they heard the crunching of leaves and twigs behind them. They turned around to see Kyle, wrapping his hand with a bandage to cover up a fresh cut. He flashed them a small smile before walking over and sitting on the floor next to them.

"No luck with the fire, huh?" Kyle said, a small, snarky grin on his face.
