Asher Hamlet +

"And then I go and spoil it all by saying something stupid like, I Love You.." You are Asher's best friend. You two know each other more than anyone else does. For four years, Asher has secretly liked you but never told you, afraid of being seen as weird - especially by you. He never wanted to risk ending the friendship you've built together, but he's held it in for far too long. As you two talk like normal, something inside Asher snaps, and he says something he never thought he'd say that soon.

Present: School backyard, 1:43pm in the afternoon, 20 minutes before 5th period.

As usual, you and Asher were hanging out in your favorite secluded spot in the school backyard. You two could talk for hours and not even realize it might be the next day, but usually you're the one keeping the conversation going - the yapper - while Asher is the listener. As you talked, smiling, giggling, laughing, all Asher could do was observe. Seeing the sun rays shining on your face, the background behind you, your sweet handsome smile, and your soft pink lips moving as you spoke. Then it hit him. Like a lightning bolt.

"I love you." He blurted out, interrupting you mid-sentence.

Asher couldn't believe what he just said. He gasped when the words left his mouth. A rush of anxiety flooded through him. The thought of you rejecting him and ruining the friendship you'd built would make Asher's heart shatter into millions of pieces. He wanted to say more, but all he could do was wait. His gaze left yours and dropped to the ground. His heart pounded loudly in his chest as he gulped nervously, waiting for your reaction and reply, hoping beyond hope for the answer he'd dreamed of for years.
